DO YOU HAVE LOW SELF ESTEEM?
I just had to write this new poem called "low self esteem"
As it affects just so so many of us.It certainly affected me.
Growing up,I always felt something was wrong from in my teens
Yet I battled on regardless,yet I felt trapped.I never felt free
Eventually I sought professional help to see what was wrong with me
And through many sessions was told i was suffering from low self esteem
Years later God saved my soul,yet these horrible feelings within troubled me
Read books about it all which educated me..yet now I just longed to be freed
Low self esteem means you have a low sense of self worth.You're unhappy with YOU
From not liking your physical body to feeling ugly,to...after eating ,vomiting out the food in the loo
To...feeling worthless,inadequate,useless,inferior,feeling like a failure,..yet,none of these are true
One has a distorted view of oneself,there's always a feeling of self loathing..this is true!
There's that constant ill feeling about oneself,Which you can't seem to shift no matter what you do
The reasons why this happens range from you being abused by others,including those You thought loved you
To strangers,friends,even society's perspective of success/perfection..to thoughts JUST CHANGING within YOU
Feeling too tall to short,to ugly,to thick,to clever,...your soul is tortured by the things you go through.
We live in a fallen world...and Satans plan is to ruin our self worth by this form of self rejection
For looks,status,materialism,intellect and class ect seem to be humanities main kind of obsession
Many of us find fault with our body shape,looks,social influence ect...so much negative introspection
Our self worth can easily be damaged.Easily ruined by a world that has learned satans lesson
On how to marr and ruin our personal value of ourselves.Some strive for absolute perfection
Cosmetic surgery,physical perfection,career,abilities, ect..our lives are at the mercy of others inspection
"A woman who hates her bodyshape can't accept she's beautiful when told,can't accept such a suggestion
Constantly feeling ugly..she's deeply unhappy..yet wanting to feel beautiful..she feels that inner tension.
Some people strive to be muscular, or just to be successful or having power or striving to gain respect
Yet there are at the mercy of the opinions of others,their self worth depends on the affirmation they get
Their self worth can be damaged if they are made to feel they're not good enough..though successful they fret!!
In relationships partners can make the other feel useless,worthless and unimportant..causing deep upset
Yet we serve a God who gives us worth,value,love,forgiveness,acceptance..he wiped out sins debt
Reconciling us unto himself through Christs shed blood.So,as his children the stage has been set
For you to be restored by God in regards to your low self esteem.Your deepest needs yet to be met
That need to be whole again.That need to be free from those feelings your inner man has kept
Don't be fooled by those who outwardly look fine,many they are not quiet as they seem
Many struggle with their own self worth daily,feeling inferior or insecure wanting to be freed
Even those superstars we see who have it all,are often damaged regarding their self esteem
Their world is cruel..critical and abusive.,,many have depression..the list goes on, "are they living the dream?"
It is ONLY in Christ alone do you find your TRUE worth.He has come to heal you where you inner man bleeds
Though we're sinners he has come to give the self worth satan and the world stole...man they were keen
