I want to be a truth-teller.
For the real to run off my
Tongue and to start a
Current to your source.
But I sputter these soliloquys
And they are rusty waters,
Browned of pretense dripping
For the roof of my mouth
And sticky of something
Clever that I like too much
To keep to myself.

I twist and I mix until
It tastes good to me;
I approve what I can to make
Truth sweet to the tongue.
The
Waters are strong,
But I don't know where
They are flowing to.
And now,
These waves have
Made my mouth
Rot.

I want to be a truth-teller
But sometimes I'm not.

But You are and when
I see You as You are,
Your scars encrypt the
Inside of my eyelids;
I see my lips
Are dust and
Your love is selfless
Water, clean and good;
It bends to flow new
Songs,
To bring filthy dust to life.
And then,
Your love speaks through me.

Lord,
I want to be a truth wearer.
But I am
Sometimes a seller
And I pretend the word
modestly.
Cleverly paint it in
Subtle brillancy,
So they will wonder
When they
Look at me.

Sometimes I want
To be attractive instead,
And so I clothe myself
With filters and

Curved necklines,
At right angles
And the right time
Because I want to wear
What they'll
Like on me.
I want to paint sufficiency.

I want to be a truth wearer but
Without you,
I am blind and naked
And that no covering can mask
My indeceny.
No filter can clean
my mockery.

Sometimes I'm a liar
And lies can't wear truth
But
You put your love
Inside of me.
You are clearing
Nooks of indecency
You are turning my subtle
Mockery; You are gripping
The ashes to beauty.
Dust can't hold Truth to
Wear, but you have
Clothed yourself over me.

Jesus,
I want to be a truth-dweller
But I am prone to wander--
I feel it in my skin.
My heart leaps
Warmly to the pulse of sin,
And I want to walk outside
This house.
I want to be a truth-dweller,
But hunger pangs take
Me to the windows
Where other dwellings
Look strong, and
From their chimneys I hear
Their siren songs
Calling me to them.

I want to be a truth-dweller
But sometimes I pause inside
Of sin.
But Truth-tweller,
Sinner-dweller you made yourself
Sin and you are coming to me,
Lifting my head,
Calming my groaning.
And you tell me I am
In the House of God forever.

When I can't seem to live
What I am claiming,
Lover of daughters,
God of our fathers,

You are whispering softly:

I want to know you.
I want to know you.
I want to know you.

And I want you to know Me.

I made a video for this poem (at the top)! Please share if you like it!

I can't figure out how to edit/delete. Could you tell me--or where on the site I can find how to?

You have five minutes after posting to edit or delete; after the first sixty seconds, a note will appear giving the time an edit was made. The edit/delete button is on the bottom right hand side of any post you made. It says edit, but if you hover your cursor, delete also appears, and both require secondary actions to effect your edit or deletion. However, as far as I know, only mods and admin staff can delete a thread. I do not know what would happen were you to create a thread and then delete the content of your opening post within the first five minutes. Would the thread remain with no OP? I am not in the habit of creating threads so I do not know :)

Very nice poem, and I also liked watching your video. However, I didn't get this part of the poem which I have lined up:

"I want to be a truth-dweller
But sometimes I pause inside
Of sin.
But Truth-tweller,
Sinner-dweller you made yourself
Sin and you are coming to me,
Lifting my head,
Calming my groaning.
And you tell me I am
In the House of God forever."

Do you picture Jesus Christ as a sin dweller? Or is it meant more as He came among us becoming flesh and blood, and then taking all sin upon Himself when dying on the cross? And then I don't get the part where sin and Him are coming to you, since He is holy and sinless. I am only asking to get a better understanding of this and not to stir any trouble. :)

Welcome to this site!

Yeah, I can see how that might sound confusing. In that part, I am thinking of 2 Corinthians 5:21 when Paul says "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

So He became sin in the sense that He took on the wrath of God that we, in our sin, deserved. And after taking this wrath, He could save me and dwell in me, therefore being a "sinner-dweller." I could also say "saint-dweller" or "daughter-dweller" but the point is His humility, in taking that punishment, then dwelling in some of those who deserved it.

=======================================================

all of us 'former' 'sin-dwellers', have no choice but to over-come/become, 'saint-dwellers', for this is what
our new hearts desire forever more, when He calls to us...

Thank you for your explanation. I get it better now. :)
