THE REGRETTABLE MISTAKE YOU MADE

One of the hardest things to live with is regret,it affects us all
If only you could go back in time and change things to avoid the fall
Sometimes the memory lingers of what could of been
If only there was a chance to go back.....'you know what I mean!'
Yet as you know life doesn't work this way, there's no way back
So one just has to get on with things,I guess that's just a fact

Yet what has happened often stays within your mind and heart
Reminding you often regarding what had happened in which you played a part
You know what happened, you know your part in it all this
There are consequences to what took place, things are far from bliss
Yes there are reasons why things happened for everything has had a reason
Yet could it of been all avoided as it's affect has created a difficult season

In life we sometimes reap from what we sow.God knows all about this
"How will things turn out?"you may wander.Only God knows what this is
Is it you who made the mistake? Is this poem actually all about you?
Are these words mirroring your heart? Describing what you're going through
Whatever has happened has already happened and things have been affected
The consequences you may know..this is not a result you would of have selected

How will things turn out?..will things turn out ok?Will I make it through?
Such Questions you just cannot answer yourself...there's not much you can do!
Living with whatever mistakes you made can affect you in so many ways
Yet God wants you to rely on him,he knows how you feel.Things went astray
Things have happened..yet it is NOT the end of you.Allow Gods power to move
He will sort this out yet maybe at a cost..but the turmoil he will definitely sooth.

after True Conversion, 'old regrets' are taught how to deal with: acknowledged, and then
let go of...DONE DEAL...when Jesus calls', 'clean slate', nothing that we have ever done,
in our 'past', 'can hold us back from being the best we can be for Him...
then we only can go forward, where He awaits us with open Holy Arms...

Hi yes you are right in regards to conversion as once a person accepts Christ as lord and saviour they have a new start in life and even their baptism is symbolic of their past being buried with Christ.

Yet the poem deals with things that can happen to a christian during their christian life..sometimes we make mistakes ect and the poem deals with the reality of his if feels to have made a mistake as a child of God.It isn't about the moment of conversion that the poem is about,if it was about that it would have a totally different content (about the blood of Jesus setting a person free ect ect)..

I can personally testify to masking serious mistakes at times in my christian life as well as others I know (ranging from others I know marrying someone who they realise wasn't right for them at all.... to infidelity within a marriage...to saying wrong things ect..)..so it was written to show empathy to anyone who has made some kind of a mistake and letting them know that God is still with them and wants to help them in the situation the mistake they made has put them in.

True a lot of which is described in this poem. Though I think some mistakes or things which happens to us may not always have been as easy to change nor have escaped from even if we'd try changing it by going back.

Just a thought I have had in mind sometimes, as it is easy to ponder a lot about what could have been changed or done differently, having all of these if's and why's in mind. But then again; Would it have always gone differently if you took a different turn of direction? Sometimes it may not be avoided for us experiencing what we go through at certain times.

I hope this makes some sense, too?!

A good poem. Much food for thought. :)

Yes. We all have our past. We are forgiven, but still the consequenses are left behind. Sometimes there are wounds yet to be healed. Sometimes it takes years to get your life back on track. I guess the mistake I made, or you, is a cross we have to carry. God knows our pain. And He knows our regrets. And only He can restore us and heal the wounds. His mercy is what helps us through it.
