Child Victorious

The greatest gift I give to thee
To die and live eternally

Halfway up the hill she perished
Sharing crust of moldy bread
Need of being very cherished
Vile refuse be her bed instead

Spirit quickly from the stench
Her untold story and her fears
Tiny form the rain will drench
Blood of heaven's seething tears

Swept up and ushered loosed of tether
Legion angels line her path
Tower lights will sooth forever
Innocence that felt world's wrath

Memories marred are put to sea
Gently she is walked to shore
She plays in love so deep and free
We leave her here forevermore

Horseman's outline top a hill
Against light darkening very sun
Scarred hands on bridle holds him still
Steed sweats and foams and wants to run

Can I now smite in that dark place
Blind eyes that see by greed and stealth
Take from them their pompous face
Give justice for their ill gained wealth

Thunder spoke and quelled his fire
Said days are short for them to see
Steadfast peace replaced his ire
Slave to peace and liberty

Shadow truths and lofty notions
Shout like death for earthly kings
Lives of myth like poison potions
Soon be all discarded things

Tiny girl's domain will rest
Because it gave it's very Best.

That's a very powerful poem. With much emotions in it. Beautiful. I enjoyed reading this one out loud too.

Thank you. I saw some video footage from a Christian charity showing children, perhaps three or four years old sharing food that they were finding on a garbage(dustbin) heap outside a large city.

Wow this poem is great i love it. I wish i was great at poems but i lose my spark. Anyway i love the emotive lines.

Thank you. Sometimes I write a little story first, just let it sit around near me and then try to write a poem about the story. In my poem I was sensing how Heaven views the death of these little abused children.

Which is sad of course.
