Except For One

I walked amid a tangled web
Of lies, deceit and words I'd said
For I had thought this would be fun
I fooled them all except for one

Passing time had honed my skill
In words they bowed before my will
From rising moon to setting sun
I fooled them all except for one

Then as I sat upon my throne
Gazing upon the minds I owned
An unheard voice said "hear My Son"
I fooled them all except for one

The silent voice spoke to my heart
From this lie I soon must part
So now I walk with God's own Son
I fooled them all except for one

Given by the Spirit to be shared with all but claimed by none. All praise and glory belong to Him.
