Gained nothing but guilt and shame,
when I went astray;
but when to Him I came,
He washed all my sins away.
I sat on the fence,
and looked for peace;
until I came to his presence,
the sadness never cease.
I was cumbered with strife,
but He set me totally free,
and gave me eternal life,
when he hung on a tree.
Contentment and peace I lack,
freedom is what I need,
from sin, He bought me back,
and now I am free indeed.
