The heart aches in the loneliness of the night.
I look to my right where a warm body once lay,
now just cold unused blankets lay.
pain searing threw me as I think of what my life will be like,
without my best friend.
I cant laugh with him, talk about my dreams with him,
I cant touch, or be touched by him.
I will never hear the words "I love you" come from his lips,
nor will I be allowed to say them, though my heart is screaming too inside me.
how could he leave so easily, just like that?
how could he abandon me so quickly?
tears fill my eyes, and roll down my cheeks,
and something squeezes my heart.
I can hardly breath.
we meant so much.
we loved so much.
we had our troubles, but to just run away from it all,
to give up on us just because it gets a little hard.
I just cant understand why.
why.
it hurts so much.
then I wonder, is this how Jesus feels when we abandon Him?
though many may leave and forsake me, my God never will,
in Him I lay my trust, my love, my hopes, and my life!
I praise you my Lord, you are my only love, and my best friend!
I know you will make all things beautiful in your own time!
