I don't know where you are
Never saw your face
As I wade away in these waters,
Do your eyes stare into my face?
I see your face,
Distorted beauty beneath glimmering streams
So close to the surface
Yet farther than I can reach
My hand is out for you to hold
Yet I still feel cold
My knees break down,
My eyes begin to weep
These vices clenched tight to my soul
I want to reach and be enough
Be all that you will ever need
Yet I feel so far from where you see
I should be wondering if I ever see you
But my heart is assured
When can I smell your breath?
When can I swim in your eyes?
Find me when you can
God, keep my eyes open to see
Till I see the one I know
The one that I need
Until our souls unite as one.
