facing reality

Is it rain that falls?
my chest collapsing?
looking in hindsight
trying to bend the streams
move the flow
and change the present
not a day goes by
without a single thought passing
just to work more
just to try harder
I just needed you on my side
I wanted to hold your hand
the blade just twisted tighter
when I pull from my reverie
my eyes are drawn up
clear blue skies
a bright yellow sun
how can it rain?
I hate all you did
but I miss all you did
I miss all we had
I've tried to move on
lied to myself
believing I was done,
but as its been written
"your memory is never passing"
one day I can walk again
not today, nor tomorrow
but some day
until that time comes
my eyes are drawn up
clear blue skies
a bright yellow sun
yet still the drops fall
even though it doesn't rain.
