Battlefield
My life is a battlefield, two forces fighting for control,
Darkness and light collide. Winner takes all.
My Life mistakes and failures battle scars, war stories waiting to be told;
Of Satan’s victories over a foolish ignorant fool.
Darkness shadows me like a cold fog, blinding me from the choices I make.
Drink consumes me. Cigarette smoke swirls around me.
Satan grins in victory, another soul lost to God forever.
Faith is lost; Hope is gone, burned out like a flicker of a flame.
Loneliness prevails, friends are gone, Suicide the only out.
With pain I feel alive, yet I want it too end,
I’m conflicted with emotions tearing me apart like a wolf devouring a lamb.
Long gone is happiness, lost in the void of depression.
Stumbling my way through the battlefield of life.
Lost in the fog of war.
God stands his ground against the odds; Wants to give me a second chance.
He gave his son to die after all. He won’t give up, fight till the end.
He wants to love me, I reject him. I can do it on my own.
God is patient. God is compassionate. He waited till I fell.
He picked me up and let me continue on.
I fell to my knees, tears in my eyes.
Looking too the heavens, repented from sin.
O God save a sinner like me, save me from death, give me life.
Save me from myself.
