the curse of shalott

Poor fine handsome lancelot
on his way to arthur
riding on to camelot
and happily ever after.

But not so says i the irons cast
the ladies gaze so hard and fast
little known to you aghast
the lady of shalott.
her broken mirror in a glance
her woven threads no longer
she looked once and it was
that look that spoiled her plunder.

Poor sir does not know,
fine temptress down the rivers flow
but on the way alas she died
the curse was broken but survived
passed on through the gaze
of anothers loving sigh
he looks upon her lovely face
why did such a beauty die
the lady of shalot.

That very night his sight was seared
the light distorted visions neared.
He had to leave his castle walls
he had to hide or camelot falls,
for a beast cannot be seen
within the halls
of king and queen for
safety calls.

He scrambled down to rivers edge
and swam the course to end,
From castle moat to forest shores
out he crept as his flesh tore
never once to mend again.
The lady of shalott.

But still he did not know why
his fate was sealed within the eye
of maiden left alone to die
the lady of shalott.

In to forests deep he roamed the
underworld he creeped.
He could not be seen so nor did sleep.
He kept himself within his keep.

A stony cave whom none could find
he stayed within to bide his time
never aged nor saw the light
except the full moon
at midnight.

Looking for his bride

That was a wonderful poem. The language you used is something to be admired, for sure.
