I had forgotten the paths we tread
closed my eyes and wasted away
rain washing out the footprints
fouling mud in creation restoration

I had all but forgotten there
washed over the electrons
drowned their wailing drones
short circuited the wires

I forgot where red was painted
thinner washing the stains
gritting my teeth against the grind
pain staking the memories

forget this ever existed
close my eyes and remain
wash out the past lives
raze the fire and purify
