Severed ties
Such remorse
I know it was for the best
Even though my best was never good enough
I am reminded daily
My reflection in this dimly lit mirror
is all too eager to expose
just how flawed I am
Severed ties
such deceit
I know the lies you spoke
Even though you tried so hard
You were reminded daily
of a love you no longer had for me
I try to let go of the truth
I try to let go of us
I find myself believing in such lies
I look into this dimly lit mirror
and can't help but see what could have been
All just a fantasy
All just a beautiful lie
Severed from my heart
and replaced with such tainted memories
I just want to forget you
I just want to forget me
I want to move on
completely
I want to be severed eternally whole.
