recovery from the junkyard
Cars with smashed out glass
Bent metal and frames
Wheels that are now flat
exhaust pipes blackened
Mirrors looking back
Reliving old memories
Where tachometers seem to track
Hellbenders races
the interior scorched by sun
All seemed like a blast ,
all seemed like fun
Stickshift fifth gear
Manifolds blaze
Radios blare
Drivers in their cage
Carborators open
Foot to the pedal
Racers lined up , going for the medal
back in the garage
The engines tuning up
Oil is changed
spark plugs lined up
Interior brand new
A wax on new paint
All restored now
New parts on their frame
the garage opens up
A Father hands His Son a key
A Son says what's up?
A grin from cheek to cheek
Some day Son
everything I've taught
Will be yours for choices
Be careful who you listen too
Be careful of voices
I love you so much
Remember when you're grown Son
some lessons come hard
prepare now you'll see
Please stay in Gods Yard .
He is the master mechanic
He can untwist metal
Make things brand new
Even if we crash them.
He is the engine
Without Him we don't go far
So let Him drive Son
Hand Him the key to your car.

No recovery of metal
An old towtruck pulls
The mechanic is old
he knows exactly whats up
