Hey everyone, I could use your prayers! I used to write poetry for the Lord, but I haven't in about a year since I've gone through a bad breakup. We used to write poetry together...it's hard to do it now.

Psalms 40: 2-3 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit (depression is a pit I climbed outta), out of miry clay and set my feet upon a rock (Jesus) and established my goings. (3)And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many men shall see it and fear and shall trust in the Lord.

Hello cagransee08, How wonderful that God has blessed you with the ability to express yourself thru poetry, such a lovely gift of communication. It can inspire, comfort, enlighten or draw attention to a particular topic. I'm sorry that you have been hurt and were treated unkindly. Maybe you can release the pain with your poetry. Check out Psalms, David went thru alot of heartache so there is for certain something there for everyone. Hold on because God sees your heart and yearns to console you. Just ask Him.

Father, we praise you for your goodness and ask You will lift this depression and wash this hurt out of cagtansee08's heart, that You will pour out the oil of gladness and reignite the gift of writing in the name of Jesus. Amen

It can be difficult to write with the same passion and feeling you once did until you process all those feelings that inspired you to write in the first place.

I don't believe creative writing is anything that can be forced like
Im gonna write a one hit wonder ok wheres my pen
Or a Shakespearean masterpiece tnoite I got some time to kill. lol
its like love
you cant arouse or awaken it before its time
It may be difficult at first but if you allow yourself to tap into those heart inspired feelings once again, I imagine the creative thoughts of poetic emotions put into words will flow once again.
*plus I believe it may involve using both sides of the brain at the same time
perhaps excises that let you practice using both sides of the brain at the same time
IE: calculated side and emotion side (IE:Math & Music)
will enable your writing to spring forth and become easier again also

But the main thing I would say is do it with Godly motives in mind
Let God inspire you to portray what he wants to say through you in your experiences to share with the world
