A soldier goes into battle , never questioning his job to be done , he's given orders of his assignment , sometimes changing his position in the middle of a battle .. Obedient , he retreats not to His own will, but to His authority. He moves forward, what once was has turned into a new thing .. Not a face of defeat , but the feet of retreat as he reposponds to a calling for another cause ..a soldier may have his doubts, but he will lose his life for his brother next to Him..he will throw his body like a shield to cover and become the victim to a society gone mad to ensure his brother breathes another day , in hopes some day he knows the glory Jesus brings in freedom ., he will take the fall in order for his brother to be spared and never once cast an eye in His direction, because he is all to familiar walking in those shoes ...a weakness he once suffered now healed by Jesus , he now stands as the missing link , stengthening a chain..
I'm always amazed when I come across a soldier .. The most polite manners with yes ma'ams and no sirs.. a genuiness in their voice because respect for the frailty of life has become more pronounced in theirs .. they know what a bullet can do..
they come back into society with scars only God can heal.. they wake up inspite of it and open a door for someone else..
battles humble us, It wakes us up to the reality we are not as invincible as we once thought, we find a deeper respect for that we sometimes think we can conquer only to find ourselves on our knees begging God for help. Learning to such a degree, That without Him? we can do nothing at all... the miracle coming out of such battles though , is discovering a different type of strength has been built into our frailty , with God all things are possible ..
With God new life begins , with God our broken cities become restored, renewed, and rebuilt .. never forgetting mind you .. Never forgetting .. That without God? The ruins of such places will remain.. Desolate lands .. Broken ..
you see, we are never the soldier .. ..Only the wounded who are carried out of battles by Jesus .. it was He who was slain in them ..and willfully mind you .. Not us ..We are still alive ... past the battle lines or maybe still going through some ..bit kn the other side of the battle? It is He who is left behind , laying down His cross like a bridge , so we come to the field of victory. Glorifying God and what he has done..

Sister Powemm, As a soldier who served two tours in Vietnam I could speak of many things a soldier is,but through all the training, and hearing everyday from those over us" if you ever want peace prepare for war" the real true foundation of the soldier comes from this one verse.John 15:13 Greater love has no one then this, that one lay down( or be willing to lay down) his own life for his friends." On the battlefield against great odds, the soldier does not retreat, he moves forward to win the prize which lies at the end of the battle." To have PEACE!!! One must always be willing to prepare for war! The fruit of one's labor in this, is the comfort she or he has when they return from battle, HOME!!! To see there family safe, and there friends once again! Blessing sis.
