B
There once was two sons,
Who came from a great family
The youngest said to the father,
With his heart puffed up manfully.
"Give me my share of your inheritance"
He said with great profanity.
So the father divided his estate
'Cause of his son's rationality.
As the son lived off the estate
That his father generously gave
To wander off some other country
To live life reckless and depraved.
Then a great severe famine came,
While he wasted everything he saved
He was hit with great poverty and pain,
His needs came crashing as a tidal wave.
He then hired himself to a local citizen
And was sent out to go feed swine
He longed to fill his empty stomach
With the pigs' pods from time to time.
His mind came back to his senses
And he came to emphasize,
Something so real and true
That his mind forgot to realize,
"How many of my father's servants
have enough food to spare?
And here I am dying of hunger
In an unknown place somewhere.
I will go back to my father's house
With my heart deep in dispair
And tell my father I have sinned
Against you and heaven with error.
Make me to be one of your servants
I'm not worthy to be your second heir."
So the son got up to leave that place
Came walking back to his own city
But from a distance and long way off
His father saw him with all visibility.
He came to embrace him, and kiss him
And had compassion with a pierced pity.
The son tried to repeat his own remorse
But the father called his servants quickly,
"Bring out the best robe
And put it on my son,
Bring a ring for his finger
And sandals for this one.
Go and kill a young calf,
So that we may all eat,
Celebrate this special time
For my prayers are complete.
My son was dead,
And now is alive.
He was once lost,
But found and revived!"
Now his older son was out in the fields
And approached the house full of music
He inquired to ask one of the servants
Because this thing to him was confusing.
The servant plainly said,
"Your brother is found,
And your father celebrates
For he was once dead,
But came back in full lengths!"
But the older son was too angry to come in
And the father started to plead with him.
But the eldest son said,
"Look, I worked for you
And served you rightly
Never once disobeyed
And you do this likely?
You never killed a calf
For me and what I did
And invite everyone
Including my own friends.
But your other son
Devoured your own wealth
With prostitutes and sinners
And you celebrate his health?"
The father then looked at his eldest son
And graciously said,
"You have always been with me
And all of mine is yours,
But we had to celebrate for him
Because he is lost no more!
He once was dead,
And now is alive,
He once was lost,
But found and revived!"
