I wrote this one...a couple years ago I guess. (a lot longer than I thought). Anyway, I thought I shared it on here, but apparently not. When I was married the crap hit the fan several times within a year before we separated, at one point one it had happened I called a good friend of mine who told me to "cling to the cross" I instantly got a mental picture of me doing just that, and so birthed this poem. The first one I had written in close to five years. Hanging on to God at all costs.

Clinging to the Cross,

Longing for a hope.
Tear stained cheaks,
Bloodstained chest.
I grasp with my hands,
But hope seems lost.
Comfort is all I need.
You are here forever,
Though I can't see You,
Though I can't feel You,
I trust in Your presence.
When I am broken,
You are my strength.
When I am wasted,
You are my power.
My hope is not lost,
Clinging to the cross.
