Here is a poem that came to me when I was meditating and realized how far I had wandered into the selfish world trying to make myself good and everything fell apart, children gone, and family broken up, they were tempted by the enemy with the baubles of the world and dont see a need for Jesus, and I was desolated.
But Jesus is good, and kind and he comforts.
Jesus dwell in me, as I abide in you
grant me your grace so my heart is renewed
I am so sinful longing to repent
For in self righteousness my life I've spent
Horor and darkness opens before me
As all my guilt your word outlines to me
Much time I've wasted talents I have lost
All I can do is fall before your cross
Emptied of self with tears of penitence
My only course is to my god repent
I have no gift except this empty heart
Fill it with love as your rich grace imparts
This lamb has fallen, lift me by your grace
In your fold grant to me again a place
"I love you Lord" like Peter I'll repeat
And praise my saviors might who set me free
