The Empty Box
On a night long ago
Not unlike this
The heart of love sent a Box
With seemingly nothing in it.
It was sent down to us
with the Heavenly Hosts
For the Father formed the box
Which looked dull to most
The Box staying for awhile
Although scorned and scathed
Then sent back to the Father
Which all were amazed
For the beauty of the Box
remains always unseen
For matters of the heart
Only true love can glean
So on this night
Like one so long ago
The unseen gift remains a glow
For to peer within ,the heart would know
The ransom of love the box still shows
It never grows full nor empty will be
For the Son fills the box for
Both you and me
So when the day seems long
Or you have lost your way…
Remember this Box
And your heart may say…
I am loved with a gift
That no one can see…
The Gift of the Son
From the Father
To me.

I wrote this many years ago, On Christmas I would take a small beautiful box and enclose this...to edify both brothers and sisters in Christ when life seemed to full- asking them to keep the box where they may always see it, to remember the unseen gift :)
I will never mind a repost or use of this, however this year I would ask that if you do, you would make a donation to this site, so others may continue to find the unseen gift we have come to know- remember no gift is ever to small
May God bless you and yours :) Mary1c

This is my first response to a poem on this site. Very good flow and meaning. I have to feel something when I read a poem and I did. Thats the evidence to me that it is good. :)
