I've asked a million questions, but one answer got away,
It's the lamp far in the darkness, it's the needle in the hay.
It's only what you'd think of, with all your thoughts at bay,
Right now I can't recall it. My mind pushed it astray.

I've heard a million wisdoms, there's one that shone too bright,
It's the rest amid the chaos, it's the peace amid the fight.
I'd know it if I heard it, I'd recognize the sound,
But the world is full of noise, and right now it's much too loud.

I've seen a million heartaches, I've felt my fair share too,
I understand fulfillment wasn't there for me and you,
If only I'd remember that our parting's not the end,
My desires don't give me fullness, they just burn inside my head.

I've read a million words in my heart for one that rhymes,
It's wrapped up with a subtlety that haste'll never find.

Maybe if we're quiet enough.

I have a plaque on my wall that was gifted to me from my sister over 13 years ago.

It says...

Make time for the quiet moments
as God whispers and the world is loud.

I have that hanging where I can see it daily. The world and all its voices scream for our attention, while God waits patiently for us to give Him our undivided attention. It is a good reminder. Lots of voices, just need to listen to the One that matters the most. :)

I love this. Thank you for that :)

I think all the world's problems mightn't seem so unbeatable if everyone could just stand in peace together for five minutes and realize how great it is to not think anything, to not have to shout our opinions above someone else's opinions. Sometimes I think it's the loudest people that run this world, and they're the ones with the words of least value.
