Violence Is Golden
It’s solved many a problem, but never changed a heart.
It’s survival of the fittest in the place where the fittest is the fattest.
It grows from eye for an eye to skull for a tooth, to a family for a life, to a nation for it’s resources.
We’ll say vengeance is the Lord’s, but enact on “His behalf.”
We’ll say God is a God of justice, and convince ourselves we are His instruments to bring it about.
Violence is golden, it is treasured, and Oh’ the price we pay for it.
Brethren & Sistren we have a faith more precious than gold, the faith of Jesus, Who has called us to store up for ourselves treasures in heaven that will not be touched by moth, rust or thief; a faith more precious than gold, the faith of Jesus, the God who taught us to love our enemies and revealed mercy triumphs over judgement.
