P
I see you
The sparkling light in my window sill
The ambient separator of darkness
You gleam through when the dark seems strong
The upright defender
The power source
It's a war i see
and sometimes it seems like it surrounds me ever fast
I wonder why I must be encompassed by the dark
the screeching foul sound of air escaping
the odor of death ringing at every door step
the blind man trips at the unruly roots of a fickle and decaying tree
I see the men working earnestly to sharpen their swords
Your men
But they take their eyes off the light and they cannot see what they are doing
they cannot see where their swords should sit or how their helmets might stay on their heads
"Where are you?" They cry. "Why don't you deliver?" they shout
in circles they run, hitting walls as they try
and they mock the light in fear of it because they begin to know the darkness all too well
My heart begins to pound
it beats a strong drum
"Why Lord why" "why am I here?"
"amongst the men who live in fear?'
I hear you say "my child don't fear"
"you are here because I am here"
I am all alone I protest with cheeks flush red and river run eyes
I see it again the darkness surround
I wonder how long I am safe and sound
I beg you "Lord, surely here they will tear me apart
A declaration from the voice in my heart
he retorts, "But a light shines biggest and brightest in the dark"
The sparkling light in my window sill
The ambient separator of darkness
