There are times when I seem to take over the shepherd's role,
Trying to lead myself - comfort myself - find my own green pasture.

Then I hear your gentle voice calling me to turn back,
And come once again into your care - into the fold.

There I find that you are the green pasture I was looking for,
You are the still waters that restore my soul.
