Why are certain married people so disrespectful?

It is important to confront people. Timing is also important.

When that woman said that to me about Tara I was very angry and I would have destroyed her verbally. I needed to wait until a better time to confront her when my temper was down and I could address her with rationality. I did confront that same woman about another matter involving singles a short time later and we absolutely did not see eye to eye. People are not always rational.

But the point of my post was not to get the judgement/opinion of others on my behavior but to spur people to think about how singles are treated.

I agree we have diff level of temper and it's better to remain quiet at that specific moment.

I'm talking more in general. Most of the time people choose to keep silent not just in a given period but they choose to keep silent over time.

It doesn't surprise me that there are married couples acting that way to singles. There will always be people who are insensitive, inconsiderate, self absorbed, self centered,you name it...and the worst part, they are all in the church. As human as we are, we all have those attitude. We can be inconsiderate, and insensitive without even knowing that we are, until someone cares to tell us.

There are so many issues in the church and they could be avoided if all of us learn how to deal with it right away. I hope my words didn't sound offensive. I'm just saying what I feel but I'm also someone who is learning.

I'm not sure now since I'm around better folks, but there was a time when I was a factory worker, all men. And I think they did it because they were unhappy in their own marriages. For example they rarely got things their way, etc. While I was free to do what I pleased, so they were jealous of me. And they pushed me and pushed me to get married, to do my "manly duty". So I did. While it can make me mad to look back on it, without this experience I may not have found the Lord. So perhaps I should call them up and personally thank them...

All churches are different. My church is like Hollys, there is a mix of both. I'm married, have two kids work part time, I would never say what that woman said to Crimson Lark. I don't assume anything about someone else's life. My Pastor is single, no children, I imagine he's very busy. Before I was married and had children I was very busy, went to college and worked full time. I know many of the singles in my church are doing the same thing.

I don't know why this particular church that Crimson goes to has women that do that, it's unfortunate.

Churches these days are projections of their culture.

It's not the same environment of 1st century Middle East.

Americanised churches scare me. We have them in Australia. It's like: Who are these people? So weird. Why is everyone dressed similarly and have similar haircuts. Why are 50 year old Dads walking around trying to look 20 something and trendy.

Also, everything seems like a Sales seminar.

The people in Hillsong music videos. That sort of fakeness.

Real people are broken, have ugly days, have saddness, have tragedy in their lives.

The early Christians were hunted, martyred, Crucified. St Peter was crucified upside down.

I don't get that, in these Music Video, Sales conference churches.

I think ostracizing single people is a reflection of this. Church is a lifestyle choice, instead of being a spiritual compulsion.

Also, look up "if church's marketed like Starbucks". It's a funny parady on YouTube about the 'American Church'. It's quite disturbing too.
