... to move on.

The CC Singles has been a wonderful place for me - like my home on CC. It's the only forum I check on a daily basis. Thanks to the wonderful people who made the CC Singles awesome. You know who you are. :)

First of all I wish to thank God for the internet and for the wi-fi. Secondly, I wish to thank the CC Admin RoboOp for creating such a wonderful site and for maintaining it without the pesky and sometimes vulgar Ads. Next, I thank the Admins for giving me 2 Rep points and for not censoring me during my moments of madness. Last but not least I thank all the CC Singles whom I've interacted and befriended here and on CC Chat. I owe it all to you for supporting me along the way.

Though I've spent a few months here and I've reached a significant milestone in my CC growth, a few incidents that have happened on here have rattled me a bit. I wish these things had not happened, but I have realised that this is the "way of life" around here. I came here expecting love, fellowship and brotherhood but that was hardly to be seen. Being part of the CC Singles I thought that this will be a community of people who would understand and support each other through life's struggles. Unfortunately it's not.

As far as I know, I have never offended anybody on this forum. Despite our obvious cultural differences, I have taken great pains to be politically correct and be sensitive to my fellow brethren here. However, some people clearly don't appreciate it. I've been called various names including 'bear', 'Roh', 'Chris', 'bro', etc. which is quite insensitive to my feelings. The proverbial 'last straw' happened over last weekend. There was a particular instance of trolling which gave me a horrible shock. As CC Singles was the first thing I check in the morning, this trolling left me devastated and upset. I was not expecting this to happen to me. It took me about 10 minutes to calm my frayed nerves. I looked around and I soon found out the troller. Though I rarely confront a troll, having read a few recent posts requesting men to "grow up" and "man up", I decided to reprove the troll regarding this issue. I drafted a tersely-worded email which carried a warning that I would haul the troller to court. Unfortunately, the seriousness of the message was lost and the troller got offensive and dared me to do it.

After much thought, I have decided that I have had enough with this tomfoolery. I have been silent for far too long and many have taken advantage of it. Hence, on this momentous occasion of me reaching 1,000 posts, I hereby declare war on all the trolls who have trolled me on CC. You know who you are. I am coming for you. Because -

Sorry, I meant to post this ...

*places hands over eyes and peeps at Roh_Chris news feed....*

I am tempted and afraid at the same time to troll on you.... The last thing I need, is a "bear" chasing me down the street...

P.S. I meant no offense with the bear remark:rolleyes:

Not everyone who come on here will be understanding and supportive. But of a lot of the places I've been, this is a pretty good one and there are some great people on here. If you are looking for a place where everyone always agrees and never has a bad day or an unkind word for anyone, you will be looking until you get to heaven. Also please don't take our Western sarcasm or bantering as unkindness that's just us having fun, though I'm sure to some people from other parts of the world it looks like we are always fighting with each other.

The other half of dealing with cultural differences is to speak up when something bothers you because there is a good chance that other people don't realize it is bothering you. Especially when you had a picture of a bear as your avatar I can't see anything remotely offensive about calling you any of the names you listed, and I'm sure most of the CC citizens would agree with that assessment. That said if there is something you are being called that really bothers you, most people will stop if you say please don't call me that, use this name instead. Also please understand that most of us are probably oblivious to just how much effort you put into being culturally sensitive. If you do a really good job of it you just seem normal and we don't even realize that the normal you project so well is not normal for you at all. So thank you for your efforts to blend in, you are doing a great job.

Also thank you for being our resident troll hunter. Should you need further assistance please click the exclamation point triangle thingy at the bottom of any trollish posts or pm's.

I am perfectly happy in this place. I've never been hurt or upset by any of the jokes here. I've enjoyed the camaraderie here and I must say that CC Singles has helped me grow in my spiritual life. :)

This was a thread aimed at the ones who were pulling my legs. All in good fun, Sister. No worries. ;)

As an after-thought, maybe I should have put some emoticons in my first post. But that would have been a give-away. :p

Glad you are not packing up your toys and leaving as I enjoy your posts and your sense of humor. The interaction you provide is refreshing and when I read the OP I thought not another one of the fun people being chased away..... I can't take it when some of my peeps are chased out of the site.

Glad you intend to stick around and my advise is walk softly and carry a BIG STICK and beat off any trolls that are mean hearted.....lol

The Blond appreciates the Bear and wants the Bear to stick around.....yeah I know big play on words.... it is just a part of speaking Bondese.........Bears and Blonds do have more fun we just have to walk slow and let the rest of them catch up to us that's all so stick around Chris as there is still a lot of fun to be had.....

Actually I'm slightly disappointed. I was going to throw him a farewell party and get well (for his bruised feelings) party all in one big party.

Ah well...

Coincidentally this feline is currently eating tuna for breakfast. Tuna, mayo, and instead of spreading it on bread, I crumbled up bread in it and mixed it up. Scrambled tuna sandwich.
