"You know, these male / female threads inevitably always come in pairs..." ;)

I did not want to derail the 'mate' thread to this one, 'From woman to men'.

So...

Whether serious or humorous -- men - give your best advice to women...

~ THE absolute best thing you can do to destroy your relationship with a man is "play games" / "toy" with him.

Sincere honesty and straight-forwardness is the best way to deal with a man.

~ If a woman asks the question:

"Does this make me look fat?"

Then - assuming that she is a sincere, honest, and loving woman - she really and truly wants an honest answer.

And, she should get one.

And then, she should be able to "handle" the answer -- knowing that her man loves her - and would not so much as want to hurt her feelings - but is giving her the honest answer that she has requested.

Otherwise -- she is not a sincere, honest, and loving woman.

It is as simple as that.

It is entirely ridiculous for a person to "push aside and forget" the total depth and extent of love and caring in a relationship over the answer to such a silly and needless question as this.

Men -- if a woman asks you this question - and she is not actually wanting a sincere and honest answer -- she is "playing games" with you - or herself - or both...

"O.K. -- quick - someone post something funny..."

Power tools/cars/electronics fascination...?! Why?

Why are your hats so sacred?

Some women think it's cute to take something that belongs to their boyfriend...hoodie, t-shirt, etc...but more often than not, I've heard guys say this really annoys them. So, is it annoying, or cute?

What is it that allows men to get sooooo focused on games (football games, video games, whatever...)? It's like some of y'all have a switch in your brains that shuts everything else off for the duration of said game.

Because those things are like crack cocaine to us (although I'm not into sports, and I've never tried crack or cocaine).

I guess it would be like us taking away your favorite pair of jimmy choos. :)

Of course, I can only speak for myself in answering these questions...

1). Not much of a "power tools" guy. Yes, I know how to use them, but it's not something I get excited about. Cars? Sure, I like a nice car. My father is massively into old muscle cars. There has been one in our family ever since I can remember. For me, it's more modern cars. I drive a '05 Civic. I would love to upgrade, but to nothing crazy. Electronics: For me, it really depends on what it is. I'm pretty low-key, so I don't feel the need to have the latest electronics.

2). My University of Michigan hat has been the same one since I graduated high school. It's covered in dirt, the coloring has ran due to being in the rain so much, and the fabric is tearing. But, until it is no longer wearable, I will not be buying a new one. I guess it's a way to show appreciation for my team... that's all I can say.

3). Yes, I'd be fine with that. I think it would be quite cute, actually.

4). Out of those options given, for me, it's football. Yes, without a doubt, I can tune everything out for 3 hours on a Saturday. It's not that things won't get done, or that other things won't take place... I've been in a relationship before where, depending on the time the game started, we either did everything before or after the game. If it was a blowout, I had no problem turning it off and going back to what else was planned. In a way, I'd call it compromise. :)

I can't speak for the first two, but I'm into computers because I can use them to do a lot of neat things that people really enjoy or find useful.

Why are your hats so sacred?

Beats me, I don't wear them.

Some women think it's cute to take something that belongs to their boyfriend...hoodie, t-shirt, etc...but more often than not, I've heard guys say this really annoys them. So, is it annoying, or cute?

That would be annoying if it's something I really like/wear all the time. Or if she took it without telling me.

What is it that allows men to get sooooo focused on games (football games, video games, whatever...)? It's like some of y'all have a switch in your brains that shuts everything else off for the duration of said game.

Take it from a guy, they can hear you. They just don't want to respond because then they would have to stop watching/playing the game. But I've seen just as many girls do the selective hearing bit too...
This sentence added at the end because the forum didn't count what I wrote within the quotes and complained that I hadn't typed 10 characters.

An open message to all women: Makeup makes you look artificial. Artificial is not as good as natural. I know you will keep wearing it, and I don't really care how you make yourself look (frankly it means more to me that you can keep up your end of a conversation than how you look) but I have to tell you that stuff makes you look fake. No real person has skin that smooth, eyelashes that thick only look good if they are that thick naturally (don't ask me how, but mascara just looks fake) and lipstick is a definite turn-off instead of turn-on. Kinda makes me wonder why you are so insecure about how you look, that you would want to cover it up and make yourself look different.

I know I'm just a single guy, but I've lost count of how many men I've heard saying they keep trying to tell their wives they don't need all that makeup.

And yes, I know that what I have said here will make no difference. You will keep wearing makeup. But I have to tell you, for the record, it looks fake.

Because they get it all styled up just how they want it, and when we touch it, apparently we mess up the 'do..lol :)

This was how I always knew when my son reeeeeeeeeeeally liked a girl. He let her touch his hair without saying a word. :)

Er... I didn't know we were supposed to mind. But then I don't style my hair so there's no effort to mess up.

Whether by nature or nurture, an inclination toward power, speed, intelligence... The feeling of going fast is exhilarating and there's reputation associated with it. Power tools just make life a ton easier when doing work requiring their use...electronics are fascinating due largely to hubris...all the things we can do, create, innovate...it's fin and amazing.
(so basically...the faster, stronger, harder song...)

Why are your hats so sacred?

I'm not one of the 'hats' type guys, but I have a lot of friends that are. It's a pain in the neck to get one 'broken in', and usually someone else messing with it will mess it up. On that note, it's the same level of trust for such people as letting you take their keys or wallet... It's a big deal. Part of a certain image and familiarity... Like what car you drive or house you live in...

Some women think it's cute to take something that belongs to their boyfriend...hoodie, t-shirt, etc...but more often than not, I've heard guys say this really annoys them. So, is it annoying, or cute?

Depends on the guy... Getting your hat snatched is almost always annoying...and actually, something missing that you're looking for is annoying in general....but again, depends on the person as to whether or not they'll choose to really be or stay upset about it.

What is it that allows men to get sooooo focused on games (football games, video games, whatever...)? It's like some of y'all have a switch in your brains that shuts everything else off for the duration of said game.

This is literally a psychology issue. Men, by and large, have the ability to hone in and focus on a single task. They can drown everything else out to focus on that particular thing...and most are just naturally single-taskers. We also have the ability to literally not think about anything whatsoever...which tend to be derect opposites to woman who multi-task, have split focus due to this, and cannot shut off their brains, even of they want to...

My avatar is without eye makeup. Still foundation and bronzer. No man will convince me not to wear them.

1) Not sure. They're powerful in different ways? Complicated but practical?

2) I'm not familiar with this one. I don't like people wearing my hat if they have nits but generally I'm okay with it.

3) Cute. As long as she returns the article of clothing within a reasonable time frame, I'd have no problem with her doing that.

4) I'm not into sport and I haven't played video games in awhile but I think it's because we generally can't multitask. As others have already mentioned, we have a singular focus. That's the way God made us. I'm not using that as an excuse but more as an understanding.

Heck, yes! I had the entire world's population of butterflies in my stomach when I first met Arlene in the flesh.
