Hi to all, do you think that God had a purpose for us while we are singles? or it is only that he want that we grow in faith or spiritually?

Mm I'd say he wants us to grow in him, but I still think yea we have a purpose while single. Paul was single all his life right? So, where-ever we are in life hopefully we can be a blessing to others if we're open to being used in such a way.

You have to keep in mind that God does not want everyone to be married. Someone has to go half-way around the world to minister, It's had to do that while your married. God gives some people the grace to remain single. Some people have a purpose that they can not fulfill if they are married.

Seriously Liz,

this is a good question to ask

guys should know what they need to accomplish to prepare themselves for (privileges and) resposibilities of marriage

but many girls christian and non christian seem to be just filling in time waiting for marriage to find them

in the old days girls worked to become accomplished to equip themselves for marriage and motherhood and sharing in their husbands calling - or else they developed a calling of their own

while being single, God does have a purpose for us! Like when Adam was single, God has a purpose for him. Adam was doing the will of God. Single people, like Adam, should strive to do God's will.

I think of it like this...God is preparing us for the responsibility of a relationship. We have to remember in a Christian relationship there is something greater involved than watching a movie or eating dinner. First you have to be willing to love him more then her/him. Without relying on God and having the willingness to sacrifice your time as a couple to God it will never work. You will eventually find that person that will tell you that you will always be second to their Lord. It is our responsibility to be role models and examples for non-believers in our relationships. They will be watching what we do in our relationships as Christians just as they do in any other part of our lives.
So, I guess my point is...as we wait for God to send us someone we are growing and learning about relationships so we are prepared for what we will be facing. God always does exactly what we need. Whether we think it is or not. God Bless!

Besides strenghtening our relationship with God is i think one of the purpose of being single is to realize all that has to be realized. knowing our roles that God has given to us is an example.

I think every single person should make the best of being single totally! I'm not in any hurry to get married, but if God insisted on it, I guess I'd say yes lol... But in the mean time, I'm busy in my church and serving in any way possible :) I've only been a Christian for 3 years, so I have some growing to do before I could say that I'd make a good wife. But I think if I become the kind of person that a godly person would marry, then even if I don't get married, I'll be set for anything that comes my way ;)

Well even non-christians these days are getting married later in their 30's probably because both people have had some time to live and establish themselves first . My uncle is getting married his first wife and first girlfriend and he's in his 50's.

He wants me to simply follow Him in all of life... that's why I'm single right now... and I'm content with that.
He will bring this desire to completion in His perfect timing... and I rejoice in that :)

until then, i will focus on Christ, and devote my life to Him
