with all due love and respect, i would assert that we can do without more photos and uncomfortable comments about firemen and objectifying them.

last time you made a similar comment, things very quickly devolved to a pretty uncomfortable and (what i found to be) both disrespectful and inappropriate destination.

i realize i may be jumping the gun, but since you're new, i'd venture it's worthy of mentioning.

thanks in advance. : D

it was my intention to offer a kind, good-natured reminder/comment about the fact that the last time firemen were brought up, thoroughly discussed, objectified with a host of lustful, inappropriate comments made by you (and a couple others) while being passed off as a joke (or even something funny) it was pretty offensive to many, not to mention, what i considered to be quite disrespectful to our brothers.

what my church denomination or "appreciating good looking people" has nothing to do with this. i apologize if you felt targeted, and perhaps i should have messaged you privately.

anyway, if you need a reminder of what i am talking about, here is the thread i am referencing. your posted photo was #57, i believe. but the fireman comments started about 10 posts earlier. the moderator's comments about this photo #76.

as tempted as i might be, i am not going to go on about why i think we should not be using cc as a place to talk about hunky firemen and the potential joy of finding one. i would think that would be obvious. but if it's not clear, let me know and i'll be happy to share my thoughts on PM. : )

welcome back.

Re: Matchmaking Thread (Round Two)

I still don't understand how guys in t-shirts with bare arms signing papers on a table in someone's random photo is offensive. They didn't even have big muscles, just well-defined.

Re: Matchmaking Thread (Round Two)

Firemen are beautiful people too.... I happened to be married to one of those hunks as he was a volunteer fireman who was also a Police officer I love men in uniforms there is nothing wrong with them.. There are no fireman pictures posted, why are we jumping on someone just because they were mentioned?

Is it the intent of this site to chase people away? We were just having fun and meant no harm. I have a hard time believing young people get so upset over nice looking people no matter what their profession? Is it wrong to appreciate a good looking person? When fun is the intent? Or do we all have to be dressed Victorian and mum is the word never appreciating anyone for anything? Don't dare show love or let anyone you know you like anyone as it may offend someone. I have toned down quite a bit, but I still like to have fun.... Don't understand why we must jump on someone right away if we don't agree on a subject....

I guess I just don't understand....

Re: Matchmaking Thread (Round Two)

Honestly people, was there any real need to bring that thread back into the picture? The comment that was made to Trinity33 here should indeed have been discussed in PRIVATE. But as one person stated here, apparently it's fun to make other CC'ers feel embarassed, uncomfortable and awkward. The people involved received warnings, and they all apologized. I think it's unfair, crass and rude to glaringly keep pointing out other people's mistakes. After all, it's not like any of YOU haven't ever made mistakes on here.. just sayin'...
