Just sort of think about it, I notice there are a lot of contradictions when it comes to what men and women are looking for in a mate. Have you noticed any?

(Please be civil. If someone disagrees with you or is actually showing the trait you dislike, just have some mercy. XD Or you can be a total goof and do silly contradictions. Either way.)

Some men say they like a woman who eats, but only if she is willing to the gym and burn off those calories.
Some woman say they want a "good guy" but only go for the muscle mcmuscle men and ignore the potential sea of good guys.

Women want to be respected, and yet some of us wear skimpy outfits and are mad when men react indecently.

If 7-11 is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why are there locks on the doors?

Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

Why is brassiere singular and panties plural?

Perhaps, from my own experience, this isn't entirely true.
I guess it's more people of my generation. Twenty somethings tend to be a lot more shallow about their fellow men/women.

Women say money doesn't matter... and then they look for a rich boyfriend. D'OH!!!

I jest! I jest!!! :D I just figured that one would get an Amen from several of the guys out there, unfortunately.

Let's see... Men say they appreciate mature, strong women. Then they marry girls young enough to be their daughters.

Women say they want a man of God. Then they make excuses for trying to make a relationship work with a guy who's pressuring them to have sex.

(I know, I know, it can all worth either way... these were just a few that came to mind. Steph, great thread idea!! :))

Not sure what this has to do with contradictions about men and women, which is what the thread is about.

I am pondering your last sentence and will report back later.

A woman bats her eyelashes and says, "I'd follow you ANYWHERE."

Then you ask her to the movies, and she says,
"Not to see THAT movie."

Hmmm.... how quickly things change.

Sorry, I didn't realize that. The title of the thread simply said, "Contradictions."

I can't speak for the OP, but I thought your post was great, Dan. (If the OP thought it was inappropriate, I apologize, but I always enjoy Dan's posts.)

If we want to get super technical, the thread wasn't supposed to be about correcting/criticizing the technicality other people's posts either, but hey.

I understand that derailing a thread often isn't helpful, but one of the fun things about threads is seeing what ideas everyone comes up with... and not how specifically they can follow the supposed rules.

Some woman say they want a "good guy" but only go for the muscle mcmuscle men and ignore the potential sea of good guys.
So...a man can't be a "good guy," AND have an athletic physique?

Well, nuts. :/

Some men say they want a Proverbs 31 kinda gal, but always end up choosing Gomers.

Some women say they want a man with a steady job and a responsible drive to provide, but instead choose deadbeats who find any excuse to do nothing but sit around all day.

(Sorry, I just spent a week with my family, whom I love dearly. And yet...there's some real disappointment in some of the choices that have been made. -_- )

There's more than one Gomer? And I thought he was a dude?!

Hosea was the man. Gomer was the hooker he married.

(Before you EVEN THINK IT, Angela, HUSH!)

Ah! Sometimes names are repeated throughout the Bible. I was thinking about Genesis 10:2 but well done. ;)

The descendants of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
