Yeah, women can be so cryptic. Like when they ask "Do you have the time?" does it mean that they're smitten by my sideburns? Or when they say "Hey, that's my dog, stop giving him treats. I don't even know you." does that mean that she wants me to marry her?

You ladies can be so mysterious at times....

Let's finish a few of these, Jeff Foxworthy style... :D

we need to talk...
...but you need to shut up.

lets just be friends
Translated: "I don't feel the same way you do, but I don't want to break your heart." Or, another option would be, "You really freak me out; go away."

its not you its me
If this is true, then why doesn't she cancel the discussion, instead of expecting the man to walk away first?

I just need more time
This is also known as "I need some space", which is half a sentence. The rest of it goes, "Without you in it."

Women say things they don't really mean, even to the point of saying the exact opposite. Unfortunately, men take them at their word instead of decyphering the cryptic clues in herbody language which she assumes is obvious.

Conversely, men say exactly what they mean with no hidden messages but women ignore this and try and draw alternative meanings from his body language, eye colour, whether or not he's shaved that morning etc.

In short, men and women shouldn't even try to communicate. It'll only lead to misunderstandings.

That's so true! I'll never understand women. They are just so weird.

I'm reminded of one speaker's very funny take on this subject, called "The Tale of Two Brains". You can find it at this link.

I recently told someone "I'll get back to you"

I think that was interpreted as "go away"

another time I said "we can discuss it" - their attitude changed immediatley

I think it was interpreted as "but the answer will be no"

probably people with low self esteem or who are used to people being their bosses
I would also interpet the last one as you pretending to hear what I said but then planning on forcing your opinion through anyway (or... not you perhaps, but if it was a rndom guy I hadn't met before at least)

as for the other things I've never said em...
(Seeeeee? I'm half male brained)

My sister tells me exactly what she thinks. Mostly she's angry when I ate the last cookie. She won't say 'I'm glad you've had it'. It would be much nicer if she did :D

I don't remember having used these, but the one I have used lately is 'I'm just not ready'. I didn't lie, I really wasn't ready for another relationship.

men use it too, though... i recently had to use it, simply because being around her was causing me to stumble in my faith and question the Love God had for me.

of course, she didn't like it, and then decided to directly and indirectly insult me, and end the friendship completely, but you know what? Christ's Love is so much bigger and so much more powerful than any word that human beings can say... you may hear it from another person, or you may have to say it to another person... chances are, no matter what happens, it's going to hurt, but give the pain, the hurt, and the despair to God, and ask for peace and joy through the Love He has for you, and He will help you
