So for all you lovely nerds out out there state some things why you think you should deserve this crown and be king or queen of the nerds? I as the op cannot accept the crown but I will state what a nerd I am. I love to read fantasy books such as harry potter, I love Pokemon, I love anime, I am fascinated with science even though I don't have the brains for it.
Simply post all the reasons why you deserve this crown:)

Ahh man... I guess I am out of the running since I have nothing to add to this thread, but my two cents.

I don't think I'm the right kind of nerd for this thread.
*hides Harry Potter and Twilight and Game of Thrones books and DVDs under LOTR Middle Earth tapestry before taking Star Trek: The Next Generation sketch off the wall and disguising Duck Dynasty garden gnomes and Uncle Si chia pet as something else*

I got nothin'.

So I deserve the Kings crown because:

- I'm a Buckaroo
- I own a diesel truck and I frequently use the 4x4
- I only play acoustic instruments
- I’m a land surveyor
- I don’t know the texting lingo
- One of my favorite drinks is green tea
- I’m a terrible bicycle rider
- When I used to watch sports I would root for the loosing team (note: this may change several times during a game)
- When I used to be able to write programming code I used to incorporate photos of Bugatti Veyrons where ever I could

Um…. Actually I guess I don’t qualify for the crown, I’m just not a nerd.

*I'm not particularly good at anything.

*I don't really collect anything in particular.

*I may obsess about something for a small time, but then I'll lose interest and go onto the next thing.

*I'm not good at math or particularly good in any specific area. I have no area of expertise.

*I have absolutely no coordination or athletic ability.

*I'm just not "cool". I don't dress cool, I don't talk cool, I don't get invited to the cool parties or places or do cool things.

If being a nerd means being "anti-cool" or "the opposite of cool", then obviously, I am just a nerd by default! :)

There is an inherent fallacy in the whole king/queen nerd theory. This being that a nerd wouldn't care enough about such a matter to exert any effort toward becoming king or queen nerd. He would be much too busy rebuilding his kernel.

(If you don't automatically know what a kernel is and how to rebuild it, you are by default out of the running for king or queen nerd.)

Yeah, you pretty well disqualified yourself.

Seeing as I read this as "He'll be too busy rebuilding his KENNEL," I guess I'm automatically out of the running.

I actually know what a kernal is!:D and some of the process of rebuilding it. Of course I'm the son of a nerd so I've been imersed in that sort of thing my whole short life.

Wait, if you rebuild a kernal, wouldn't everything built on top of the kernal need rebuilding also?

It depends on what you chose to compile, what you chose to leave out, what you chose to set as a module instead of an integral part of the kernel. You can (carefully) optimize a kernel for your particular hardware without disturbing programs and services.

I never do though, because my whole system is installed on a flash drive that I can boot from any modern laptop or desktop. If I started optimizing the kernel for a certain computer's hardware that would defeat the whole purpose of having a system-on-a-stick.

I've read all the Twilight, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Magic:The Gathering, Left Behind, and most of the Star Wars books. I play Magic: The Gathering, League of Legends, Pathfinder, and Dungeons and Dragons. I've seen all the Star Trek, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Matrix, and Marvel movies. I read the entirety of the current Marvel NOW line-up. I've seen Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Trigun, GUndam Wing, S-C-ryed, and Gurren Lagann at least three times and watched Bleach, Fairy Tail G Gundam, Aquarion EVOL, and others. Also I'm 6'3'' and love to play football. So I'm like the nerdiest jock ever?

He's a geek not a nerd:). Do geeks get to compete for the crown also:confused:?

Specifically he seems to be an otaku, an anime/manga geek. My brother also is one, which is why I was familiar with (most of) the things he listed.

On the other hand, being a nerd is a slippery slope...

LOL

Have no fear, that's just a cartoon. Linux is easy to use - you don't even need to touch command lines if you don't want to.

In fact a child of four could install and use it. And I'm not exaggerating.

I meant it to be a joke. I guess I should have put a :D.

I have actually considered going to Linux, but it doesn't sound like it would be compatible with most software, expecially the software I already have and don't want to replace.

Just to make me sound more like a nerd. I've done some editing of the code for servers and it doesn't scare me, but truly I don't know what I'm doing, I just follow instructions:).
