Find a way to figuratively or literally describe your mental process, emotional process, etc when you make a thread.
Use words....pictures...gifs...whatever..

Is it sort of like making sausage?
You toss in a bit of this...a bit of that...grind it up..and wait for the results?

Highly organized?

Is the goal to rule the mind of all who read you?

I like to challenge conventional thinking.....sometimes even if I agree with someone... for the purpose of engineering and constructing new neural highways in my own and others brains. We've all got rutted out dirt roads that our thoughts automatically go down that are unhealthy....especially in the midst of stress or conflict.

Someone said that the only sane people are the ones you don't know very well.

So challenging smeagal type "my precious" thinking is not a spectator sport sport for me.

It hinges on the subject matter; some threads may be to garner advice, some for learning about others or educating them, and so on. Posting an article to enlighten people requires very little time and thought, but creating something original or more personal involves tailoring the OP.

Sometimes the time invested into tailoring a post pays off, and other times it's a little like this:

If it's a fun thread I'll just spit it all out there and see what happens. If it's a serious thread, I am highly organized. I will build the frame as efficiently as possible and hope people come give it purpose.

Most of the threads I've started stem from experiences I've had or questions that are relevant at the time I post. I never plan or organize; it's all pretty spur-of-the-moment, hope-for-the-best type stuff with me.

I actually drew out a "mind map" a few days ago, trying to help get myself a bit more organized in a lot of areas of my life...it turned out to be a mess of scribbles and words that even I couldn't untangle. Everything was connected.
So when I come up with a thread idea, it's like I've reached into that mess and grabbed hold of the first thing I could get my hands on. Trouble with doing that is, it makes sense and is important to me, but I think most everyone else is sitting there going, "WAT?"

For me, it's just kind of like, "Oh yeah, this seems like it may or may not be thread worthy. Should I even do it? I seem to have the opposite of something like a green thumb when it comes to threads...oh whatever I'll post it anyway."

Usually there is a bit of tiptoeing as if on thin ice, because if I sound too authoritative, but happen to be wrong, well that's not good.

I attempt to be as short as possible, but to also look good, and present well.

Right to the point.

Playfully fun...

But not mean...

If it's a debate type thread…I try making a clean shot, so as not to waste ammo.
I'm not going to use every arrow, it's the Internet for crying out loud.

Although I have been guilty of going through a full load of arrows in one sitting from time to time.

…and maybe just a wee tad bit of this...

…or more than a wee tad bit…..

Laid back Q. I like to instigate on occasion, but usually I just enjoy the ride.

My mental process starts when I'm at work... or fiddling with music in my computer... or reading a book, or playing with the dog, or whatever I'm doing, and suddenly my brain spits out something I want to discuss with someone. So I notice what my brain spat out, assess it, docket it, push it back into my brain and go on about my business. Meanwhile my brain is formatting exactly what I want to say and how to say it, usually without my conscious participation. Then when my brain is through formatting it spits the concept back out and I go post it on the forum.

No, that was not facetious. That's really what happens in the bowl of lukewarm oatmeal I call a brain.

The Torpedo best illustrates how I develop a thread.

So for instance, I see a pattern (Cloaked Ship), and I devise a way to expose the pattern (torpedo) But now here's the big part. I have to ensure that everyone sees it...

So I leave a metaphorical trail of breadcrumbs that enables people to FEEL and UNDERSTAND it the way that I do. Which is almost impossible to do with pictures or simply being literal. This is why Parables are so instrumental. Like Take Nathan's Parable of the ewe lamb. Its so emotional, so illustrative and yet we can all relate to it, because we all know what its like to lose an animal that we love.

Because at the end of the day, i simply want to illuminate what Love is, and in a way that everyone can see it.

I'm a spur of the moment person, if something pop's in my head I go with it.

I write the idea down... bring it up to God: will this be beneficial, edifying? could it cause stumbling or strife?... then review: is it written completely in good spirit, kick out the unimportant part of the text which always finds its way into whatever I write, maybe kick out some more to avoid misunderstandings or arguments or controversy or otherwise problems... post... sometimes see problems occur in spite of all the previous steps...

I guess I chisel my posts. A lot. Some I just type out and post though. The relaxed hangout with friends kind of posts.
