Would changing my appearance to look neater ie. Clean shaven etc considered sinful as I'm not sure if I'm to accept myself as fearfully and wonderfully made ?

Not at all. Some people need to lose weight due to health reasons. A lot of work places require men to be clean shaven and women to be presentable as well. Even though we are made in God's image, we still need to do our part to be healthy, look presentable, and so forth.

If I were a betting man I'd give five to seven odds that this will turn into a debate over... um... a certain thing. I can't say what because then people would start debating it and I'd never know.
