There have been many times in the last 44 years of my life when I have felt like a nobody..worthless and useless..not important enough to be in this wretched world.. I knew that God loved me, but I also felt that others didn't..now I know differently.. :)

This post made me a little sad as you are certainly not worthless and useless. I am glad that you know differently now. There have been times in my life that God seemed distant to me too. You are not alone and the world is a better place for you being in it.

Everybody who posted to this forum is great people. My grandfathers favorite song was amazing grace before he passed away. The line that says "saved a wretch like me" at least i think thats how it goes. I have often felt that way about myself. I think god does know what is supposed to be but the intellect of man gets it confused. I feel god would tell us its too bad you humans do so much judging of yourselves and I find it funny because I have chosen you and you are fulfilling my plan.

it can be a struggle to know my worth. for a very long time, i had low self esteem, and sometimes, my flesh wants to go back to those days. but i remember God set me free from that way of thinking, so i take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. :)

true story! i admit i have bad days. but i'm soooo grateful i can be completely honest with God on how i feel that day, and He is patient with us! and Holy Spirit ministers to me :)

Why do you/I matter???

Jesus Christ was willing to die for you on the cross... If you don't think you matter after reading that.. maybe nothing will convince you how valued and how much you matter.

You have to be "somebody" if God himself did that for you.

Do you think there are other ways to feel like a somebody, or is Jesus the only one who can do that.

Yes I believe there are several ways that we can be encouraged for the Special Person we are! The Holy Ghost,is not
only a Comforter, but a great encourager, and if we let him, he can an will trains us to encourage others with his word,
and in Care! Christian counseling is another great way to help! But what has worked the best for me is having such a dedicated
time of breaking through prayer, on a regular basses that God will elevate you to a Supernatural break through, and everything changes when you start walking the deeper and close walk with God, it is Amazing!

God is the greatest self worth builder that I know! The whole Bible is filled with stories of men who thought they
were nothing, but God encouraged them to special place of confidence and strength!
