Falling in love is free. It's dinner beforehand that they charge you for. ;)

Well my Husband and I were broke when we first met. We went for bike rides, rented a movie, made dinner. We'd go to the beach and watch the sunset, hiking, bowling was reasonable and we usually had coupons. We'd sometimes go to this amusement park in our town and ride the ferris wheel in the evening. We'd go to the free admission museum days.

Could always go skiing together.
what a nice thought. :)

i'm not a skier, but...isn't it a bit pricey?
i was thinking mainly picnic/hike related stuff, and of course one can hike in all kinds of weather.
whether or not you'd want to stop to eat a sandwich at a certain altitude with a certain temperature
and wind speed is another issue. (my answer: an unequivocal no. haha)

I've always thought baking cookies together and taking them to a nursing home and handing them out to the residents would be fun.

I also would like to take bread and feed the geese at the park, and maybe also gain points by getting pieces of bread to land on their back. It's harder than you think! After that, grabbing fro-yo and stargazing.

I like wintertime, and I like brisk walks in the cold all bundled up, and then after coming back inside and drinking hot chocolate and maybe a small Netflix binge.

I was just trying to think of winter ideas. I've lived in Florida all my life and never seen snow, so I wouldn't know the exact price. Ice skating shouldn't cost anything.

I guess I will have to have a date first.. in order to experience the high cost of dating haha...
It's like a sermon from my church last year about applying four principles of God-pleasing marriage or something.. and I soon realized that you have to be married first in order to apply all four principles. I really truly wanted to apply all four as a faithful Christian yet I could only apply the first one as a single person.

I always thought just looking at each other's face, rather staring at each other, studying each other's face (me - like counting how many freckles she has), without saying anything was a great idea for a cheap date ($FREE). Also, taking her to a relatively less-crowded beach where we can just watch the whole sunset, drinking hot coffee, possibly in thermo, occasionally looking at each other, until the whole scenery turns into dark night until you can still make out the waves, and now can look up and turn this into stargazing ($2.00 for two coffee refills at 7-Eleven if you bring your cup, not to mention they have the best coffee, personally). Lastly, deeper into the relationship, we can get an order of lo mein to go and do the Lady and the Tramp thing, over and over again ($2.99 for a small order of lo mein).

As I said in another thread my version of a perfect date would be a lakeside picnic, watching the sunset.:) If the weather is a bit crummy why not bring the picnic indoors it isn't about the location its about the company.

What about going sled riding? Build a bonfire, roast marshmallows and hot dogs, and have hot chocolate. You can race each other down the hill and even ride down together. Then you can snuggle by the fire and warm up.
Cheap, fun, and very winter appropriate. At least it was when I was dating.

  • A walk in the park
  • Walking the dogs
  • Riding bikes
  • Exploring
  • Swimming in a lake or beach
  • A scavenger hunt

Canoeing or kayaking on the lake.

Meeting with another couple or some friends to play RISK or Mariokart.

Stargazing. Especially during a meteor shower.

Independence Day fireworks - take a blanket.

State Parks are awesome.

Tennis!
