I am 27 and I am still a virgin. I have never had a boyfriend, never been kissed, never been on a date.
I have never been in a real bar. That might be because I don't drink alcohol at all. I only went to one school dance.
But no one ever asked me to dance. Though I have been to 3 formal dances. They are strict on modest dress only.
So all you girls out there who are for purity, modesty, and chastity. I won't to tell good job. Because the world we live in today. Makes it really hard to stay pure. When you stay pure you are not just doing it for your future husband. You are staying pure for yourself. So don't give in to temptation. Stand strong. Don't let others change who you are. let me tell you. I have had a lot of people think that I am weird. That there must be something wrong with me. Because I have never been on a date, never had boyfriend. They think I am weird because I choose to stay chaste. But you know what? I think they are just jealous. Because they wish that they were you.

You know it is never to late to start over. To become pure again. But once you become pure you need to stand strong, to stay pure. You have got to believe that you can do it. If you believe in your self you can do anything.

It's weird to many people because they would wonder after the time span of going to prom and advancing in a job or career, how and why one would never have met and date anyone in the process. All to do with social life, really, which not everyone has or can have as great of one.

I am all for purity and commend you for waiting. I have never been married, and I am waiting for my wife as well. There is one thing that did concern me about the OP though.

I think you unintentionally make a connection to purity or more specifically a lack of purity with things like dances, going to bars, and dating. If those things lead to temptation for you, then by all means, avoid them; however, I don't feel it is right lumping all of those things together as to say doing those things cannot be associated with someone remaining pure.

I can honestly say I went to dances in school, went to dance clubs while in college with friends, and have had a handful of dating relationships. None have affected my standard in regards to sexual purity. I also have managed to go to bars and dance clubs without drinking alcohol; actually I have never had a drink of alcohol as well.

I am not meaning to nit pick, but also as nice as the sentiment is about "if you believe in yourself, you can do anything is" it is the wrong perspective. I am 6'3 and no matter how much I believe in myself I would be a lousy jockey; however I do serve an amazing God, and there is nothing He can't do. It is the difference between relying on yourself and relying on Him.

There are so many negative influences from whether it comes from music, movies, friends, and even family that pressure us into losing our innocence at earlier ages. This is actually one of the reasons why I prefer not to watch tv, unless I have seen the movie before and it doesn't really have the influences in it and that is not all the time. All you have to do now is go into the clothing store and look at the pieces of clothing that they have and expect our younger generations to wear them and then society wonders why younger and younger women are getting pregnant

Teenage pregnancy has been on a steady decline as compared to a few decades ago. Most likely due to the advancement on educating and options people have in order to have protection. But nevertheless, there most certainly is a problem and it seems as younger ages are picking up on things quicker, and unfortunately, some that are even embraced.

In all this though, I think it's important to keep Christ at the centre. Otherwise, all your good intentions and beliefs are nothing more than a different form of legalism. Look to Christ for everything. Look to Him for your identity, purpose and authority and you will obey Him out of love, rather than because He commanded it. God bless, mate.

If you like Salsa music, Vallenato or anything like merengue, I would be thinking the same ("But no one ever asked me to dance. ") but I can tell you what I learned in my Latin culture: If you went to a party, you would be willing to cheat on or to be cheated on.

I will tell you Reader that, in general, when people feel that need to attend parties (or bars) they want to wide their social scope and, if I danced with somebody´s girl, I should be willing to allow my GF dance with another. Will a normal man be willing to share his loved ones? For me, it sounds like some else wanted to use my toothbrush (being honest) and not necessarily that I compared loved ones with things (but that works the same).

One of my friends, pastor Ed, says: "How come a person is willing to allow his GF to polish somebody´s belt?" (same thought applies for girls).

As much as I remember, parties were to "socialize" and, as an outsider, it´s easy (now) to see what I was doing and what others were doing. Why not attention to a rerteat camp? Why not going to a church to fast and pray? If I wnated to be known, in a Christian community, those places are better than a party.
