Soulmate is a pagan concept originated in ancient Rome, not found in the bible.
And there is no marriage in heaven. Assuming that's what you mean by 'in the next life'.

Trust in Jesus, PrincessK. Trust in him, love him and make him your everything. Read his word. Talk to him. Listen to him.
By trusting in Christ, you will soon realize that it doesn't matter if you get married or not. What matters is that you carry out the plan he has for you. If that includes marriage, then it will happen. If it doesn't, then don't worry about it. God is all that you need. The more you lean on him, the more you will realize this.

I know it's hard but we have to get out of the mindset that all of us will find somebody because it's not going to happen, unfortunately. We live in a fallen world and some of us will never marry. It's a tough pill to swallow but once you stop focusing on a mate and start focusing on Jesus and the great commission, will you realize how the Lord can fulfill your needs.

I hope you understand what I mean, dear sister! God bless you.

There is no such thing as a soul mate, but if you are diligent enough, you can find the right gun, fishing rod, and tobacco pipe. If that doesn't scream life fulfillment, I don't know what does.

In all seriousness. Love is a choice. As a Christian, you walk in liberty to make choices. Make them prayerfully and you will have a fulfilling life. Not necessarily an easy one.

Molly is right. It's a bitter pill, but when you realize there is no "one," a lot of the pressure subsides. Live for Him, not for him.

I love that! I'll probably use it now.

Well, when I meant my husband, I was walking with indifference to whether or not soul mates existed. I didn't know, and stopped preoccupying myself with finding someone. I actually started to prepare my heart for lifetime chastity, as I went back to school. I really wasn't expecting what happened.

And honestly, I don't KNOW if soul mates is entirely a myth or not... however, I do understand why some people advocate the theory. When you fall in love with someone, and in such sync with that person, it's hard to even imagine that you weren't meant to be, somehow. When you laugh every day, share the same sentiments, affect each others' mood in positive ways, and deeply understand what most people don't understand because you both went through it - it's like, how could this be a coincidence?

I find it curious about some Christians talking about "God's plan for their life" and yet stating there is no soul-mate, and by that I mean someone predestined or fashioned to fit that person in a way no one, or few other people, do/would. Long time couples, that have a "total marriage," are reported to die in very close proximity of time. One passes, and despite age or health, the other soon follows.

I understand liberty and free will, but if you pray for God's plan, isn't that essentially praying for the ideal, or what is predestined? I know that's opening a whole new can of worms, but I see little difference between the two schools of thought, other than one "just happens" and the other happens if you follow God.

Greek notions of fate are different from Providence that stems from the sovereignty of God. Predestination really only impacts salvation of the individual. Mate selection, career, etc., God gives guidance, but there is no track that we roll down.

Ah, yes, I understand it originates there, but I was addressing common, pop cultural notions that most people attribute to the idea of soul mates.
