Maybe i misunderstood the thread, but was it not, ''Writing a letter or journal for your future wife/husband'' ?

I'm not sure how it's fatalistic and unrealistic to think a person wouldn't get married. Maybe you know something i don't.....
Okay, no, I misunderstood you. Your fine. Now I really understand you.

I guess that's a personal risk a person wants to make... and I think some people may not even consider or think of this possibility.

Personally for me, I believe chances are I will get married. And if I don't... I'm okay with that since I can take bad things happening to me... disappointment pretty well... I always bounce back.

I thought of it as fatalistic and unrealistic because I was looking at your question differently, don't worry about it. I misunderstood you.

Well different perspectives are fine. And I would hope that if and when you marry it will be to a woman who appreciates all your warm fuzzy mushiness. As for dreaming about being married, I've never really done that. Closest I get is wondering if I'll ever get married, and I think recent life experiences have helped me start to see some of the benefits to maybe someday getting married, but for the most part I prefer to invest in the people who are part of my life now. So I try to be a loyal and true friend to those I call friends, and I do my best to be content with having some people who want to keep me around as a good friend, knowing that should there someday be a guy who thinks he wants to keep me around for the rest of his life, well I'll already be well practiced in loving and caring for others which should be good marriage training.

Like I said ultra practical. To the point that if some guy said he wanted to date me my response would be to ask why and have him state reasons for his interest.
Cinder... I like the KI character by the way

You should really be careful with the practical approach when it comes to relationships. I think most people in relationships don't want practical reasons in a relationship but soul-ful ones... invisible reasons, such as "I feel like myself around you" ..."I can trust you" ... "We have great conversations" ... " You make me happy"

These aren't fundamentally practical (although to some extent, they can be) but more so abstract and soul-ful reasons why someone may be attracted to someone else.

If your practical in a relationship or someone your interested in... you may come off "robotic" and not as romantic which is something all relationship needs.

^^^ Maybe I said all of this and it doesn't apply to you... if so, I'm sorry... I misunderstood you. Also, I think you might be "hurting the atmosphere" if you ask a guy why he's interested, right after he asks you out. I'd be thrown off a bit if a girl asked me that question after I asked her out. God Bless

What's the KI character?

Well I do joke about the emotionless robot thing, but I think people around here know me well enough to know that there are some little bits of emotion running around inside of me. Invisible reasons aren't necessarily impractical, in fact things like trust and enjoying each other's company are highly practical considerations if you're going to start contemplating a life together. But seeing my lack of relationship history, you may be right about my approach isn't the most likely to get a response.

So let all of CC know: Don't come to me for advice on how to be more romantic or how to get into a relationship, but feel free to come to me for advice about whether your emotions are making you stupidly cling to a bad relationship or not.

(Disclaimer: yes this is all my strange sense of humor. I'm not offended by or mad at Calmador in any way.)

KI = Killer Instinct. It's an old video game. This is cinder. lol

Yeah, I agree. Those concepts can be practical. I'm pretty sure I admitted that in my last post. But, the "spirit" of these concepts come from a "heartful" intention, not an intention to be efficient or practical.

I'm confused. Where's the strange sense of humor? lol -_-

I have friends who have written letters to future spouses, and that was great because it was an accurate expression of who they are. I'm more practical than romantic, so it's not for me.

I think if God gives me the joy of getting married, I would probably try and start like a year before the wedding date. Little time periods before planning the wedding, just to say, "I'm stressed but I love you."

See this makes sense. Not the year of planning, but the idea that you should know someone before you write them a personal letter.
