I for one love listening to music. All kinds. My play list is rather eclectic. I also have a way of relating songs to what's going on with my life. I sometimes even feel hearing certain songs are a sign from time to time.

So, I was wondering if anyone out there had any song that they feel was particular to their situation...and more especially was a song that helped, or is helping you get through a particular situation. This post isn't meant to get too serious, but it does have a serious place I'm sure for some. Just interested to see everyone's songs!

I'll start. One that came to me in the past few days has been Peabo Bryson's "If ever you're in my arms again."

I tend to have songs for all occasions, lol.

Not sure how you do it Hellooo, but I always relate that song to a teary eyed drug crazed depressed Judy Garland but whatever. This was better. This woman had that kind of smooth but forlorn sound that did what Garland managed- make it sound like they smile in the dark.

Yeah, now that i think of it, it was you with the pink piano wasn't it? I think PopClick reminded me of that. That piano had personals on it (besides its pinkness). Stickers and such. Seems like there was a sticky note or something and maybe a key or two had lost veneer and been replaced. I know this wood worker that I admire and his work bench is rough but I wish I had it. The top is solid beach wood 3" thick and the legs are 4X4. It's full of holes for dogs and holdfasts. Mostly though it had a ton of slips where a plane hit a corner and took a chunk out or a scrape by a chisel or a thousand cuts and dings. Personals. From lots of use.

Just observations....I'll be on my way now....

There are several songs I relate to lyrically, whether in part or in full, but nothing that sums up my current situation/circumstances in a few verses. Oliver Sacks has an interesting book on how music and the brain interact: Musicophilia.

While I can't say I fully relate to the lyrics, Going for the One by Yes has been STUCK IN MY HEAD for awhile now.

Sara Bareilles is just a musical gem.

Also- yes, the piano, that was me....only I think it's closer to purple than pink.

I also find jazz music to be good listening in bad times...particularly blues
