Hey, all...just wanted to post some stuff that's been coming out about Windows 10. If you've already upgraded (or are planning to) you might want to take a look at the privacy aspects.

It appears as though Windows 10 defaults to making your entire computer, and everything you type and do, completely open and shared throughout Microsoft and whoever else they want to share it with.

Again, by default, everything on your computer is fair game...your contacts, pictures, private files, everything...and everything you type.

Don't leave out the part about Windows Sense sharing your wifi password... and the passwords to every wifi you have ever connected to... with everyone. Yup, Windows has gone Google. In other words it is now "harvesting" user information much as Google has always done.

Ubuntu has gotten weird the last three or four years. Try Linux Mint (Cinnamon edition by preference.)

True. Microsoft has collect information/hardware configs. on your computer to "customized" their software.... because you are special ;) Don't you just how Microsoft does that? Warm and fuzzy.

I think Microsoft would do better to adopt something more along the lines of what Apple does (among other things): Take a single, scalable platform that people generally like, and build upon it. Look how it has worked out for OS X and iOS all these years (never mind Apple Maps).

True. Wish it was open source though. Everything is so proprietary from hardware to software to power adapters .

Whoever is monitoring my computer will die a very slow death of boredom and disappointment. Or they will turn to Christ Jesus. Either way, God's will be done. :D

Cool -- Mind sharing your bank records here, as well? Or perhaps you do not enter ANY personal information into your computer.

Like for example, my other Asus laptop's battery was stuffed. So I took it apart and got Lithium-ion battery with the right, voltage, current etc.. solder it together and put it back together.. and I got myself a new power supply.. I certainly can't do that with an apple computer :(

Internet marketers. :(
Again.... I never purchase anything online anymore.... I don't click on ads.... I scan the news and am very selective which media resource I click on.... I mostly click on animal photos and sarcastic GIF's, again from selective resources.... I don't even check my email regularly.

Even the internet games I play are all from one software developer from Northern Europe who created the simple games for fun, not profit. The site has very few ads, none of which are offensive.

So I'm pretty much a waste of time for marketers.

Don't get me wrong. Apple is great... like BMW and Mercedes Benz... but if I had to buy a car.. I would like to be able to modify it or have the freedom to select what is the specs, etc.. Just my personal preference... nothing against BMW or Benz.. they are great cars.

I'm not against Apple...I like wozniak.
