I concur. Ken is like, the nicest person with webbed feet you'll ever meet.

Olerica, I know you've got an awesome heart, but so does Ken. He didn't mean it like that at all. Sometimes Tintin gets trolled around here because it's a tradition and Tintin is a good egg. But there's nothing mean-spirited going on.

I don't know Kenthomas well, but i know he isn't being mean spirited when he said what he said. But some people don't find that kind of 'humor' funny. If that's how Olerica feels you can spend all day talking about what a great guy KT is, but that won't make her feel differently about that not being funny. I'm on Olerica's side here. Anyone who knows me well knows i never joke like that with friends as i think it's insulting, not funny. And on the rare occasions i let myself 'joke' like that i instantly regret it and apologize, even if the other person wasn't at all offended. Some people just see that kind of joking inappropriate, not matter who is saying it.

Thank you for understanding this, and explaining this Ugly.

I don't think that teasing is bad, not at all. But insulting people isn't funny, nor is it ok - even if one is playing a character.
I don't even think it's ok if Tintin is ok with it.

In general and specifically, if you didn't know the culture here, or the personalities at play, you might walk away from reading this and think, "Hey, it's ok if I am insulting to people here because THIS person did it". And it's not. We're supposed to behave lovingly to each other, and hold each other up and gently correct each other when we get it wrong and that's all I am doing here. It's not ok to insult each other. That's not a culture that I want to be a party to, that's not the culture I want to foster here and I don't want to encourage it by NOT speaking up.

They were certainly unwise in their choice of words and way of humor.... but they're not bad guys. :)

Thanks for looking out for me, Olerica. If it were someone I didn't know then things might be a little different. But as is, because I know Ken and his strange ways, I'm cool with it.

But that's my objection, Tintin. Say it's my second day here, and I see that you and others are ok with insulting each other... or that picking on someone is ok.... so I do it.

It just sets stuff up as a culture, that as a group we don't want.

And honestly Tintin, I would have an issue with this no matter who was being called stupid. It's not about you, not about Ken or any other individual, it's about the concept and the behavior.

But I'm not going to go on anymore about this incident. Because I feel like I'm railing against windmills. Just because things have always been done a certain way, just because it's "normal" doesn't mean it's ok.

I'm sorry this caused such an incident! Really - not to make excuses, but it was an attempt at self effacing humor believe it or not. I mean, when I said something as stupid as capital P's are just upside down b's and then follow that up by calling someone else stupid, then that's...just stupid, right? But it's really me that's stupid, see? Anyway, that's the humor I was shooting for.

I'm sorry that was offensive to you Olerica and Ugly and others. This was kind of eye opening for me so I appreciate it.
