They say the punch this year is spiked with the Holy Spirit...Prom for me was a non-event. I was dating at the time and we were both Christians that saw so many people making this a highlight reel moment that fell short in expectations. I hoped my friends could enjoy it, but for many I knew they were going for something that wasn't there.

I didn't go to my HS prom but attended my then-boyfriend's prom at the Hotel DuPont in Delaware. It looked a lot like this vintage photo from the 70's. My dress was the exact same color as that mint green one in the photo (and I made it myself!). We ladies either wore our long hair straight down or had a picked out 'fro like the gal in the baby blue dress. We danced to B.T.O., Earth Wind & Fire, Wings, KC & the Sunshine Band, E.L.O., Ohio Players, Grand Funk, Elton John, Bee Gees...
