Why not start a doggie chatroom in the secular division? Who needs to fill a ChristIan chat with more senseless rhetoric and topics not affiliated with CHRIST? Do people go to a MUSIC CHATROOM To discuss auto mechanics? Why would a CHRISTIAN need to go to a CHRISTIAN chatroom to discuss dog's lives? Makes NO sense to me....keep CHRIST first and foremost and those other topics have their own avenues and places.
Pwrn do ever have anything to say to add to a conversation? Ive never yet seen you pop up to say anything but pick apart everyones posts. People talk about all kinds of things in the singles forums. Why not just move on to the Bible forum and let people have a lighthearted moment here? You have such a critical spirit. smh Ever heard if you have nothing nice to say....

can't help but think of this song by Rush when I see the thread title.

"Dog Years"

In a dog's life
A year is really more like seven
And all too soon a canine
Will be chasing cars in doggie heaven

It seems to me
As we make our own few circles 'round the sun
We get it backwards
And our seven years go by like one

Dog years...It's the season of the itch
Dog years...With every scratch it reappears

In the dog days
People look to Sirius
Dogs cry for the moon
But these connections are mysterious

It seems to me
While it's true that every dog will have his day
When all the bones are buried
There is barely time to go outside and play

Dog years...It's the season of the itch
Dog years...With every scratch it reappears
Dog years...For every sad son of a *****
Dog years...With his tail between his ears

I'd rather be a tortoise from Galapagos
Or a span of geological time
Than be living in these dog years

In a dog's brain
A constant buzz of low level static
One sniff at the hydrant
And the answer is automatic

It seems to me
As well make our own few circles 'round the block
We've lost our senses
For the higher level static of talk

Haha...ya...it's a bit silly. But as a Rush fan I can't help but understand the humor in it. Heck, I'm practically Canadian. Lol

It'c called fellowship! It's ironic how you preach about Jesus but always quick to be so negative toward your brothers and sisters in Christ. IMO you're not acting godly at all. If this makes no sense to you, just keep scrolling....

You never EVER contribute anything positive in your replies here. You say you're a pastor?! I hope to heaven you aren't this negative and sarcastic towards them. Have any of them ever walked out on you while you're preaching? lol.. No one made you click on this thread, no one forced you to reply under threat of death. If you don't like a thread, then don't even click on it. Simple as that.. Maybe you should move along back to the Bicker forum, after all you ARE good at bickering about stuff you don't like..

So... about dogs. I have to say that the dog I have wouldn't be for everyone. In fact I would guess you would need to live in the country to have an australian shepherd. They are very intelligent dogs, very loyal and good natured, but they have an amazing amount of energy. And whatever the "mix" part is in his "australian shepherd mix" it hasn't taken one bit of his energy away.

In other news - someone mentioned feeding dogs, or rather NOT feeding them from your table. This is a very good idea. My grandparents had a boxer all my days, and the first one they got they would feed bites to him while they were eating. One day they had company over for dinner and they did not feed him as normal... and he growled at them. (Boy did he ever mess that gravy train up.) From then on it was a standard rule to never feed him anything unless it was put in his food bowl.

Yet another Friendly Neighborhood Singles Forum Announcement brought to you by "Trolls4Jesus"... Kind of sounds like its own cult.

Probably similar to Jonestown.

Since all things come into being through Jesus, and since God loves both humans and animals alike, its safe to say our talking about dogs and sharing our love and joy for them is both pleasing to God and glorifies His Name.

At the risk of getting the thread back on topic... One thing about pets, I WILL give them real names. Mittens, Fido, Bowser are not in my vocabulary. And Midnight is so non-original for a black cat.

Carlyle, Dan, Hugo, Maxwell, Spike, Tiger Lily, Hypatia (Tia for short) Nancia - those are a few names born by pets in my past. If a dog or cat is worth bringing into my life for the rest of his life, he's worth thinking of a real name that fits him.

My dog is a rescue in which they did not know his name. He is an Australian cattle dog. For days we said hundreds of names. His ears finally perked up at BANDIT! So that is what we stuck with. He is very well trained. We have had him for 4 years now. Unsure of his age. You could rob the house when we are not home, because he doesn't care about material things. However if we are home or taking him on a walk he will protect us with everything....Ask the roofer who got to close to me and the dog was in the back yard. Thankfully I wasn't sued! The roofers wife thought it was funny! He HATES cats and squirrels. His breeding to herd animals comes in handy when the youngest is rambunctious. He nips the youngest rear and pushes towards to couch to sit. It is quiet funny! If he finds a turtle he will pick it up and whip it in the air, much to my oldest dismay. He dislikes water, but he is bathed weekly! I took him to the beach once. Any one who got near us he snarled at. SO no beach for Bandit!
