I just started Diablo II, it's pretty fun, but I would really love to play this with someone else.

There's a drawing game that I like but the site is mostly broken now and hardly anyone goes there anymore.

There's also this game called Word Battle but it's not at all social so it's difficult to make any friends.

I have my original Xbox set up with XKai so I can play online but I still haven't found one friend to do this with. :(

So what about some of you?

Anything good out there to waste some time with others?

I used to play Tribal Wars and Travian. I used to also play AoE2 on multiplayer mode.

Before that, I used to play CS:Condition Zero.

I didn't know there's a game about me.. Sweet! :D

I used to play battlefield 2 but I never got any good because everyone else seemed to have super skills. Then I played BF4 for awhile and that was fun (even though I wasn't any good at it either), but now I can't even log on anymore because chrome stopped supporting a certain plug-in and I cant figure out how to use it in another browser. I don't really miss getting killed over and over again though...

Yeah there's a definite problem with playing older games. Ever try to log into the original command & conquer multiplayer servers? Feels like knocking on the gates of a boarded-up ghost town.

Plus there's this...

Yea lol but battlefield 4 is current. They're even coming out with add-on campaigns for it still. My problem is probably because I don't own a console and am trying to play it on my PC. Up until about a month ago I only owned a 13" cathode ray tube type tv. Now that I have my dad's new 22" flat screen there might be a console in my future...

I don't know how bright the future looks for gaming though. They are putting in micro-transactions on full title 60$ games. Its already bad that you have to lay out that much money, then on top of it, the game itself is being changed to support them and make them enticing purchases.

For example, a game's economy without micro-transactions might be balanced to suite the player. However, a game with them, might make it where you have to grind countless hours unless you buy their "goodies" to speed up the process, after already laying down the price to buy it. Games are more turning into money milking markets, than actual games.

Gamer checking in here... I don't game as much as I used to. However, my suggestions: Forget mobile apps and all the new trash that makes you pay in-game. The way I see it, if I bought the game I won't be paying more to keep playing it. AoE2 still has a considerably active online community... like over 1,600 players currently online right now on Voobly. There's also 0AD - it's like AoEIII but opensource and has a growing online community. Hedgewars is a fun turn-based strategy game, free too.

Speaking of open source, i'm suprised gamers are waiting around for indie & company developers to make the games they want to play. I'm surprised a community that develops open source games have yet to spring up. A game made by players, for players.

Err... there are some of those. Look around. The communities usually spring up around certain games.

Hint: That's one reason I mentioned Tremulous.

Oh man... I spent so many hours on D2. Some good times with that game. I threw it out about a year go so that I wouldn't be tempted to reinstall and fire it up again.

Is the drawing game isketch, by any chance?

I used to play WoW and ran a pvp guild with my ex on Tichondrius (oh yeah)! (pvp = tich or KT). Heck I even played with Bailamos the streamer. Oh goodness, I think I spent more than 15hrs playing non stop, one time. Needless to say, lol, it kinda took over my life so I quit. Funny now, I can't get myself to play any online games anymore, even if I try. I heard LoL (league of legends) is good. Only tried it once and was bored to decay.

I highly recommend, my friend, the most creative game ever. Dun dun dun... Minecraft! There's a multiplayer version of that too and it's pretty cool.

Bro, it is such a shame you did not discover this game a long time ago. Diablo II was THE best online game that ever existed. However, the game has changed over the years due to updates. It had a massive online population. There were different items added progressively as the game updated, which characters were stronger changed. You could find something valuable in the game and sell it for like 50-150 bucks on ebay. The economy was amazing, the item system was the best of any game of its kind and still is IMO. It was the first game with real serious anti hacking measures so it was super fair compared to everything else at the time.

That being said, it is still an amazing game but they have not updated it in years. The golden years are gone. No new content will be produced and no more cool changes to keep it interesting. I still play it once in awhile like a binge crackhead for nostalgia, but i dont have that much time for games these days. I also ditched my cpu for an ipad so I can not currently play but I will let ya know if I ever get another one.

The only online game I play is call of duty, advanced warfare for xbox 360. Simply because I don't have much time and I can just pick up the controller and destroy people, and put it back down. There is no wealth accumulation in that game or anything like that. If you have access to the same game on the same platform. I will play that with you anytime I have freetime. Just make sure we are on the same team, I would make you ragequit if you tried to play against me :p

The problem with open source gaming is that it takes a looot of debugging. If there is even one weakness or conceivable weakness in the code anywhere. Hackers can exploit it. That, and if something novel is done, you are basically doing free r & d for the actual industry.

Gamer? Yes. Online? Yes. Xbox? No.
Have played too many games on too many platforms, but mostly just Destiny on PS3 currently.
