Look no further than Sarah, barren at 90, and, told by God, YOU, my child, will have a kid. Moses laughed, surely, the whole Israel nation laughed. But WHO had the last laugh? God. And, Sarah, because she had faith in God, never doubting Him.
Let me just make sure I know what you're saying. Does that mean that because God made Sarah have a baby at 90 that women shouldn't worry about their biological clock?????

See, there's that Veggie Tales episode where they quote the verse "With God all things are possible." Larry says "Well I've always wanted to be a chicken. Do you think God will make me into a chicken?" No of course not. It may be possible for God to make Larry into a chicken but He made him a animated talking cucumber, because that's what He wants him to be. It should never be an issue of whether or not God is able if we know that God can do everything. The issue is always whether or not God is willing. And He's not often willing to do what contradicts the way He made something. So for God to make Larry into a chicken would esentially be God chaning His mind about who He wants Larry to be. Does that make sense? So, God gave Sarah (and Elizabeth) babies in their old age because the babies they had were very, very special. But, for the rest of us, he made women in a way where our fertility goes down at a certain way. He does not usually give babies to women who are in their late 40s and early 50s for a good reason. So, if one doesn't get married until then, we have to confront the fact that God will not likely give them the gift of children. Do you have any idea how painful that is for a woman who's always wanted children???

Take Ruth for example, she got dressed in her best, walked right up to Boaz and told him he could marry her to fulfill the comandment. When I read that I was like "Wow, I didn't know women back then were allowed to be so bold." Oh, and then slept at his feet, remember? Is that what we're supposed to do to get a guy's attention.
Brilliant! We should make this mandatory across the board. It would make things SO much easier for everyone!
Never again would a guy be left wondering "does she like me?". Especially with Christian women.

As long as it takes to process the request of the account owner to delete said account.

*Sigh* This is a zombie thread from 2009. The users that appear as guests, have long ago left the site..

A guest is a former member who has asked to have their account deleted.

How long does it take for an account to be deemed "not active"?
Any post showing as "guest" was made by someone who no longer has an account on CC. Some of those users specifically requested that their accounts be deleted, others were deleted by Admin in a routine purge. If we never deleted accounts that are inactive our registered accounts would be well in excess of 200,000 rather than the slightly over 100,000 that it is.

Typically the only accounts that get purged are those who have not logged in for several years.

I just want a nice, respectable man, that's humble, and can be a good example to children and adults...Now a days these guys cuss every other word, and eat too much... that is a turn off and unattractive. I want a man that is concerned about his weight and health...and someone I can work out with. I also want a man that is smart as well as intelligent...Jesus does this man exist...

....Sarah, barren at 90, and, told by God, YOU, my child, will have a kid. Moses laughed, surely, the whole Israel nation laughed. But WHO had the last laugh? God. And, Sarah, because she had faith in God, never doubting Him. ....
I know this is a zombie thread and most of the users who wrote in it are guests now...

But since we're here...

1. God told Abraham that Sarah would bear a child. Sarah overheard. (Genesis 18: 9-10)
2. Moses didn't laugh; he wasn't even born yet. Sarah laughed. (Genesis 18: 12-15)
3. The nation of Israel wasn't there yet, so it didn't laugh either. Abraham is the grandfather of Israel (Jacob), from which the twelve tribes of Israel came (Abraham's great-grandsons).
4. Sarah actually doubted God...when she laughed...(see #2).

I don't think anyone else addressed this (to my surprise). I couldn't let the egregious inaccuracies go.

Try meeting someone and not having sex with them until marriage. Your chances will improve. Give God something to bless. Then again, nobody is talking about forgiveness, slow to anger, hardness of heart and all that other stuff that destroyed our past relationships.

Btw, God ordained a wife for Isaac and Jacob... just sayin.

You asked God for a mate, "giving thanks as though you had what you asked for", then keep your eyes on Jesus, "the author and finisher of your faith".

Every good thing comes from GOD...etc,, etc.,
