Well, yet another getting-to-know-each-other thread. Tell us some random #truestory about you! Yep. That's it! I'll start:

---

When I was in college, I was once accused by my English Instructor of harassing her. She called for the campus president and other witnesses and they were all in a meeting room. I was called to attend after my class that day. I went there with no idea what was going on. She then told me she was receiving death threats and that they were from me. I laughed it off, but she was very very scared. She tried to prove it by calling the unknown caller's number thinking my phone would ring (stupid idea really), of course my phone didn't ring. Then, she said, I had accomplices. I called my parents and told them what happened, my mother was, needless to say, furious. They eventually let me go, cause they had no evidence. The next day my mother and I went to speak with her in her parent's house. My mother has great people skills, patience and understanding. Even if she was mad at her, she managed to tear down her walls and she admitted that I was her number #1 suspect cause I looked like I was pretending to be happy all the time and that I had something to hide, like a darker side of me (yes that's what she thought of me, really), she just didn't believe I was completely normal (-_-).

Anyway, it took them sometime and they came up with an agreement, my mother said she'd help her find the real criminal. It didn't take long. She reported it to the police and they found out the culprit. It was an old friend of hers, who she had a fight with a long long time ago. I don't remember the rest of their story. But yeah.

---

Your turn.

Most of my stories are food related.

Once upon a time I had a habit of bugging my mother about putting sage in chicken dressing. I always wanted her to put more in it. So one day she set aside a small portion of the dressing batch and let me wind it up with as much sage as I wanted. And she made me eat it. That was the last time I ever bugged her about that.

Once upon a time my brother stoutly maintained he could eat two full cans of whipped cream. So my mother got two cans and poured them in a big mixing bowl and he dug in. Of course he couldn't eat it all, but we his siblings were delighted to help him with it. And we never heard that particular claim again.

I was called for jury duty in my twenties. I went in as summoned, but when we were asked questions as a group by both the defense and prosecution, there was a small incident :). The defense attorney asked us to raise our hand if we believed that the accused was innocent. A few of us raised our hands, though I refrained. "Now, ALL of you SHOULD have raised your hands, because the judge said at the beginning that my client is innocent until proven guilty." I decided to explain myself. "Excuse me" I said. "I think the words 'presume' and 'believe' are different. I presume he's innocent, but I'm not so convinced as to believe it. To me, 'believe' is much stronger than 'presume'." The defense attorney looked a bit embarrassed. "Thank you for your comments" he said.

I was one of the "peers" excused from even being elected to the jury :D.

I keep hearing all these wonderful things about the British singer Adele but have never listened to her music myself. I enjoy most genres of music and was prepared to enjoy Adele's singing as well. After all, everyone was saying how great a singer she is!

So I went to YouTube this morning and attempted to listen to 7 or 8 tunes of hers but couldn't make it through any of them. In fact, they all pretty much sounded the same in the sense that they all sounded like crap. I mean, she does nothing but whine and give off sad, self-pitying vibes. Honest to goodness, I gave it my best effort to like her music.... but I couldn't even tolerate an entire song. :(

I'll bet even the neighborhood cats would get all agitated and perplexed hearing Adele bawling and whimpering like an injured creature. :p

When I was a kid Barbies were totally my thing...and now I collect them lol so they kinda still are. My mom was overprotective and she wouldn't like for us to be outside a whole lot so she would get us plenty of toys to play with. Anyways, I had this large collection of Barbies but I realized that I only had about one or two Kens. I needed more men to play boyfriends, brothers, and fathers. Where was I going to find them?

Then one day I noticed my brother's Woody and Buzz dolls from Toy Story and I told him that we should mix our toys together and play. He thought the idea was great and I had two men to add to my playtime. Well we played like that for years. Each day we would play for several hours together just me and my little brother. We even called this "The Mixed Up World" because we had characters (like action figures or other types of dolls) from different movies or collections. Like one of my Barbies was married to my brother's Obi-Wan Kenobi doll. Their son was Dill from the Rugrats and their pet was a My Little Pony horse. LOL

Sometimes we would have the Godzilla or some Jurassic Park dinosaurs chase the dolls to give it a little more action. My brother also had a Max Steel doll equipped with guns and other weapons.
I guess for me Barbie world was too boring and for my brother action figure world was too serious...we both needed a bit of a balance between the two and we got it. Pink convertibles and plenty of ammunition can do that! haha

It was so fun and it really brought out a creative side in us that we didn't have before. It also helped us bond. When we said "Mixed Up World" no one else knew what we were talking about. I mean now they do because we talk about it but not at that time.

Even though my brother and I don't really have a lot in common now that we're adults, we both brighten up when we talk about our little adventures together with our toys.

I had a serious problem with a principal in my high school because I got sent there all the time for stuff he really couldnt suspend me for, but because I refused to do anything I didnt want to basically. Wouldnt be rude most of the time or cause a scene, etc. I warned them to just leave me alone but they wouldnt get off my case. Things like actually doing homework and participating when your supposed to, staying awake....etc, nothing major.

So I intentionally failed my SAT's one year. I am a really good tester and always get around a 90 at least. I intentionally failed them in the classes the teachers were getting on my case. He called me into the office and was like, how could you have possible gotten a zero? I don't remember exactly what I said but the jist of it was, I know it makes you look bad. Lol. From that point on, there was peace. They never said another word to me over anything.

The story of when my husband proposed; because who doesn't love a good proposal story :)

So, my husband and I were going for a ride with my dad, and my dad said, "you guys should get married," and proceeded to list off all the reasons why we should get married. He then left the vehicle. Then, my husband turned to me and said, "so...you wanna get married?" And I said yes. :)

In the past 4 months I've watched a life come into the world and one leave the world. In both the grace of God was shown. I'm thankful to be present for both occasions.

Okay.. jokes apart, here is a true story for you all. :)

This happened when I was about 2 years old. My family lived in a gated home, which is nothing but a house with its own backyard, frontyard and bordered by 5-foot-high walls with glass shards and barbed-wire fencing on top of it. In the 80's and 90's, this used to be the most common method of safeguarding your home from burglars and thieves (we didn't have CCTV's back then, you know). So, anyway, I was this hyperactive 2 year old boy, and all I wanted to do was to play with my toys. It was around evening on one day, when my mom decided to let me play in the yard, so that she could get some household work done. Before she let me out, she made sure that she had locked the gate and chained it together so that it cannot be opened.

I was happy to be out and I was running around in the yard, playing with an old tire. An old man walked up to the gate and he seemed very friendly with me. Being a kid, I ran up to him and stood there at the gate. I did not realize that the old man was trying to grab me through the grills of the gate. He even tried to open the gate so that he could pick me up. My mom was paralyzed with shock and she kept praying while this was happening. Thankfully, the gate was securely locked and he was not able to do anything. So, he gave up and went on his way. And I was still standing there, unsure of what to do next.

You should turn it into a crazy confession thread... For example true story about me....If you lived in California in the 80's and your house was Toilet Papered, Egged, Poo Poo bombed, noodled, etc..... I confess it was me!!!

If you lived on a farm and woke up with the cows all tipped over, I confess it was me!!!!

One time when I was in high school, we went on this trip to speak at a convention. Anyway, we stayed at this fancy hotel and we had a boys vs. girls competition to see who could pull off the best pranks. Me and this other kid took one of those huge, heavy trashcans with the ashtray on top and put it in the elevator, then we rode up and down watching people's reactions lol. Needless to say, very few were amused. After maybe 7 or 8 rides up and down, some guy finally removed it... but we laughed so much when we got back to our room. It was great and I still think it's funny to this day lol
