Simple question, yes. Silly question, probably. But I'm an Aussie and we don't even have Black Friday here (so I'm clueless to all of this rigamoral). So the question remains, is Cyber Monday actually on a Monday, or is just called that as a marketing thing? Also, we're almost already half-way through Monday, so this gets confusing really quickly (what do you mean there's a Northern Hemisphere? ;) :p ). Thanks, peeps.

No, we don't. I think it's purely an American thing. Although, I hear Canadians have adopted it.

Thanksgiving Day in the United States is a holiday on the fourth Thursday of November. So, even though the exact date will vary, year to year, the day is always a Thursday..... thus making the following Friday and Monday associated with Thanksgiving, locked in to being on those particular days of the week.

Easter is the tough one for me to ever be sure of...... it's always changing, too.

That's because it follows Passover which is based on the old Hebrew lunar calendar so it bounces back and forth between April and May.

The reason I asked this question is because there's some writers' software called "Scrivener" that's been drastically reduced for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But I haven't tried the trial version yet. We're already halfway through Monday here in Australia, and I presumed the company was in the US, but they're actually based in the UK. Hence, why I wanted to know if Cyber Monday was on a Monday. I think I still have time. Thanks.

It's embarrassing to elucidate given that our inclination to shop is so strong. American culture is so wrapped up in itself, I don't see how it has any time to wrap the gifts it saves money on.

But yes, it's on a Monday. I believe we have a Small Business Saturday thing going too.

The Small Business Saturday is actually a good idea. Why let the corporates alone rake in all the money? Why not let a small-time shopkeeper also earn some money? :)

Anything 'cyber' sounds suspicious and questionable to me.

Someone should start a thread here on any specials they found online this weekend or today and share with all of us.

I have one.

If you own an Xbox 360, here's a super cute game.

Beautiful graphics, it's makes you think (which I'm not good at), and actually quite fun.

Oh, and it's only 59 cents.

semi-incorrect, some businesses have adopted a "black friday sale", but not to the extent of the USA.. FYI...

Looks like a cross between Trine and Okami.

What? You never heard of Okami? You play a wolf who can draw things into existence. And it has poop throwing monkeys. And if you dodge their missiles they land and grow into flowers you can eat for health.
