I put this post in another Forum but thought that this Singles Forum is a better place....
Today as I was feeling a bit lonely, these thoughts came to me and I wanted to share it with you. Maybe because I am a woman but I tend to go by feelings a lot. We know that feelings can be deceiving and I was reminded of what Luther said:
“For feelings come and feelings go,
And feelings are deceiving;
My warrant is the Word of God,
Naught else is worth believing!
Though all my heart should feel condemned
For lack of some sweet token,
There is One greater than my heart
Whose Word cannot be broken!
I’ll trust in God’s unchanging Word
Till soul and body sever;
For, though all things shall pass away,
His Word shall stand forever!”
(Martin Luther)
When we put Jesus as our first Love, we are guaranteed to know and perceive His love, mercy and grace. Everything else in life can change, fail or pass away but Jesus never fails us ...He endures forever!
So, I stand on the Word: “ I will never leave you, nor forsake you!” Hebr. 13:5 b
When everything else is passed away, I will still have Jesus! When everything else is gone, there will still be Jesus! When all others forsake me, there will still be Jesus! When I haven’t got anything left, there will still be Jesus!
