Lynxsus,

I hope you know I was kidding in my earlier post. :D Or, I could flood your phone with explanatory texts. :p

My response time all depends on the level of urgency and my availability. Anything really important, I try to respond right away. Casual texts may take an hour or a day, depending. Like Lynx, I'm one of the last people to get a cell phone, and I still don't have a smart phone because at the current time, I just can't justify the expense. I see texting as a form of communication, not entertainment.

I am also pretty notorious with PM'S and email in that it can take forever for me to write back, but I will, I promise! I answer them in the order they were received (unless it's an emergency) and right now I have emails dating back well over a month. This is because I don't like writing 2-line emails--more like 2 pages--so yup, it's going to take a while.

But the people I communicate and I have a pretty good understanding that we're all busy and there's more to life than social media, such as... actually going out and living life. :) I remember laughing when a good friend of mine commented on someone she knew who was complaining on FB, "How will I ever get all this laundry done?" and my friend said, "Well maybe if you got off the *censored* computer, you'd actually get something done!"
Lol I sent a friend request to an old friend and she waited months to respond. Haven't seen her in years. So I said: hey, what's up with you? Do you have a social life or something? hahahahahahaha

HMM, text messages I do it as soon as I can. For example the phone isn't always on me, so there are times it may be hours before I see the message. Emails, I respond to important ones as I see them. I DO NOT do any social media, so I have no worries there. For PM's here, I get to them when it bounces on email and I have a moment to read and respond accordingly.

The cell phone which I carry is a tool for me to use, not a leash for others to use.
This right here. This is exactly what I meant. I pay for this phone, it is for my use. But some see it as their right to contact me at any time, for any reason. And woe betide me if I should dare to not have my phone on my person and reply RIGHT NOW!

And seoul-sista, you can text away. It troubles me not. All is peaceful on this side.

for me, it depends on who it is and what it's about. i'm able to have my phone on my desk at work, so if i get a text/email/fb whatevs, i'm able to see it right away, and i usually answer right away. now, if i'm talking to a patient or with boss, i will reply after the convo is over.

i don't get offended if i text someone, and it takes them a while to answer back. people gots stuff to do. i do get a little icky when the person doesn't reply at all. now if it's one of my random texts, then i understand. but if i'm asking a question, answer meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh. lol

It takes me a while. Or no time at all. I dunno, I usually reply to texts within the hour, barring some kind of technological idiocy on my phone's end (it's on the fritz and doesn't do half of what it's supposed to anymore). Emails are harder for me, especially since I only use my phone for internetting, and at this point, even getting into my email is stupidly difficult.

I wonder what what my excuse will be when I get a new phone...

I try to answer right away, but sometimes things get missed if I'm busy. I detest being ignored when I text, email or IM. I get that a lot here at work and it is a policy we are supposed to answer whether we have something being looked for or not. I don't require tons of attention but feel pretty frustrated when I send something and get no reply.

Yes me too. If I see it I answer immediately. We have to answer within a day at the office, but I always answer immediately. It annoys me too if I have to wait long unless I know that they have a day off or something or people who are married and are almost never on Facebook. Oh lol but sometimes I miss it. I have one Facebook friend from another forum. He sent a message but I didn't get an alert lol and then after 4 days I got one and it turned out he sent 4. His wife wanted to know something. Then he sent a smiley with a tongue out LOL. I said ooh I'm sorry, I didn't get an alert. So funny.

I take at least a month to respond to email, but I try my best to answer texts within two days..

(and some people here can attest to that!)

I don't send text messages or receive text messages.
